How do You Choose a Good Trampoline?

Buying a trampoline is a big commitment, it takes up lots of space and if you get the wrong one then you are really going to be stuck with an eyesore. So take some time to really think about your needs and what you should look for in a trampoline. But you know one thing for sure your kids will love the trampoline from day one.

When planning to buy a trampoline you have to consider a lot of different factors to make sure you get one that’s right for you from size that you have in your backyard, to the age and size of your children. But something that often gets overlooked is the best shape to choose. The shape you choose isn’t just a cosmetic choice; I can assure you that a round trampoline is much more stable and safe than a more traditional rectangle one.

The round shape is much safer as the distance away from the springs in more even an universal so your kids can easily workout how high they will jump in a certain area. Essentially there is less likely hood your child will loose control and fall off the trampoline if its round. And round shape is symmetrical so your children will always be aware of where the edge is, another reason to go round.

Another point in favour of the round trampoline is the stability of the shape. Due too the elongated nature of a rectangle they are not as stable as a circle (well not when you are jumping up and down on it anyway!!). The round trampoline distributes the weight of the people on the trampoline more evenly and the trampoline is a lot less likely to tip over. Once again its just common sense its a lot harder to tip a round trampoline than a rectangle one.

Something that you should always consider with any toys for your children is the safety equipment. And whilst you can get ladders and spring safety pads for rectangle trampolines they are very difficult to add a safety net too. And I would never recommend that anyone buy their children a trampoline that came without a safety net.

Honestly the best thing about a trampoline is the sense of freedom and joy you get form jumping as high as you can, and then maybe adding some extra rolls, flips and bounces. And we all want our children to have fun, but as parents we never want to compromise the safety of our children, with these simple measures and considerations as well as a healthy dose of common sense you can be assured that your children will be able to have incredible amounts of fun without ever compromising their health and safety.

No matter what trampoline you purchase please consider the safety of your children. Just keep in mind the factors from above and always think about safety first. When all of the relevant factors are taken into account a trampoline is the ultimate way to get your children outside keeping fit, developing co-ordination and they will love you for it.
