Every single one is familiar with a virtual 3D cover; they are the designs and graphics that people see in front of every e-book, box of different software, and even simple CDs – virtually of course. Although many people are familiar with them and what their purpose is, many people are still wondering how these artistry came about.

The truth is that most people use certain software that revolves around the function of creating a virtual 3D cover. The programs used are capable of adjusting the factors affecting a certain picture such as the amount of light, reflection, and even the shadow. The best thing about using this project is that you do not have to involve yourself in doing the technical and hard aspects of your project; rather, one just needs to focus on the creative aspect of making the virtual 3D cover.

Usually, the graphical user interface or GUI of different software is not that hard to understand and whatever language you are comfortable in speaking, there is always a choice to use it. This makes it easier for the person to understand and be more involved with what he/she is doing. The adjustments and commands are also pretty straight-forward so if a person wants to adjust something to match his/her preference regarding the appearance of the cover, it can be easily done.

There are some software which allows the users to just incorporate a certain picture into a 3D image of a box, book, or whatever, to make the picture look like a part of the said image. Afterwards, adjustments about the other details of the picture will just be made by the user as part of the finishing touches. Of course, in the process of doing this, one also needs to make sure that the image pattern is appropriate to the product which you are trying to make a cover of.

Lastly, the user needs to set up the environment of the virtual 3D cover that he/she is currently working on. The environment of the 3D cover usually involves the adjustments of factors like the camera view, shadows and lighting, background, and even the reflection. A person involved in doing a virtual cover of a certain product should always keep in mind that the factors mentioned above greatly affect the mood and behavior of other people to the appearance of the product they are trying to advertise or sell. Therefore in this stage, a person needs to consider how he/she wants other people to see the product, and what mood he/she wants them to feel so that they can truly add the elements correctly and appropriately.

After finally deciding what factors are important and should be included in the virtual cover, it is now time to finalize it and render it so that you can share it with the people you have intended to share it with. For sure, you will be proud of yourself because you know everything that you want people to see from the product will be conveyed to them properly.
