OMG! These diet traps sound SO GOOD. But do you know what they are? They're traps. Even I know better and they are still luring. Or how about Master Cleanse Secrets! Lose 20 lbs. in a week? I want to stand up and shout, "Quit fooling people!"

Fad diets can and never will help you to actually solve your weight problem. I went through this for years. I think I started dieting when I was about 10 years old. I thought the way to lose weight was to not eat. I would go for days drinking water or eating salad with mustard or eating only green beans and tuna. Know what? I lost weight but then always gained it back and then some.

Then I discovered diet clinics. I can't begin to tell you how much money, time and effort I spent losing weight at diet clinics. Of course, I would lose weight when I drank the drinks and took the pills. Losing weight was easy when I put myself in "diet prison." Then came maintenance, and I was free! Free to eat all the foods that "diet prison" had deprived me of. As I went back to eating normally, it seems I would gain back all that weight before I turned around. I would then proceed to look for another quick fix.

This crazy dieting cycle eventually lowered my metabolism so much, that I found it very difficult to lose weight yet so easy to gain weight. Yes, I put on a good front, but I was miserable. When my husband asked for a divorce, I had three people tell me it was because I was so fat! I was called Shamu when I dressed in black and white at the gym. You may not know it, but fat people are so discriminated against. I think society hates fat people. Sad, but true. Imagine the pain of living with a big ole fat body everyday!

Did I try to lose weight? Of course, losing weight was on my mind every day, all day. I put so much of my energy into worrying about it. I felt I was on a diet most of the time, but then I would blow it and hate myself. I would promise myself, that I would be good tomorrow. I would start losing weight tomorrow. Food became an obsession for me. I would deprive myself and then go on a food binge. I was alive, but not really living.

Then one day, I had an epiphany! My real problem was that I had to LEARN how to EAT without dieting. Dieting never helped me solve my weight problem, so maybe actually eating could. No, I wasn't going to lose 9 lbs. every 11 days. I was going to take a reasonable approach to my weight problem!

That's when my sister, Tammy, and I thought of this great idea. To make our food plan easy, why not eat in 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500+ calorie units! I loved the idea of no more "diet" foods. Believe me, I had had enough of the pre-packaged meals, rice cakes, egg white omelets, diet shakes, tuna, tofu and dry fish to last me a lifetime! This is when the idea for The 100 Calorie Diet was born! What a godsend this idea was! I ate normal everyday foods, just ate them in 100 calorie units! I could eat all those "forbidden" foods and still lose weight. It was really a miracle! I lost over 100 lbs. without dieting! Did I lose it in 90 days? No, it took me over a year. But I lost it and learned how to keep it off forever!

I wanted to share this diet breakthrough with the world! That's when I wrote The 100 Calorie Diet. I spent months and months of research to write The 100 Calorie Food Counter to give the world a complete food counter that showed the amount of calories you could have for about 100 calories. You know, sometimes it was shocking as to the number of calories in everyday foods. But breaking it down in an easy to understand 100 calorie format made counting calories easy! From there, I wrote The 100 Calorie Fast Food and Restaurant Food Counter which shows the 100 calorie counts of thirty-eight of the most popular restaurants.

I'm a living testament to tell everyone out there, don't give up hope! YOU can lose all the weight you need to lose when you understand there is no quick fix! I wish you all success and happiness on your weight-loss journey!
