I doubt that I’m the only one who’s noticed this, but do you realize how popular at-home teeth whitening products have gotten over the past couple of years?

I definitely noticed that there was a trend towards this about a year ago when lots of companies started coming out of the woodwork claiming that their teeth whitening systems could get the same results as a professional could get, but for a minuscule fraction of what you’d pay for a visit to the dentist.

I know that over on my blog, where lots of people are definitely on the lookout for legitimate reviews of teeth whitening products and want to find the best deals, it’s one of the topics that is definitely among the more popular ones.

Anyway, as I always do when I’m preparing a story for the blog, I sit down and spend some time looking into the various products and really trying to determine which ones are getting real results for people, which ones make a lot of claims that don’t have any track record to back those claims up, and which ones are offering the best buys so that people can get a quality product at a decent price.

When it comes to teeth whiteners, I have to pat myself on the back and say that I think I’ve outdone myself. Not only was I able to find a couple of products that people have been very happy with, I was also able to find some sites where you can get those products for free. And as far as I’m concerned, free is the best deal of all.

We’re going to get to those products and those sites in just one second, but first I wanted to just touch on some important factors that you need to think about before you invest your time and energy on an at-home teeth whitening product.

First, I would suggest that you give some thought to the amount of money that you’re going to save when you do this yourself as opposed to visiting the dentist. A professional teeth whitening can cost around 1,000 bucks, or more, depending on who your dentist is and the system they’re using.

That may not seem like a ton of cash to some people, but I’m pretty sure that the majority of people who read my blog would rather find another solution that didn’t require them to fork over $1,000 just to have a brighter smile.

The ironic thing is that many of the teeth whitening products that you can get to use in your home are pretty darn close to what a professional would use anyway. So why go through the extra hassle of having to schedule an office visit -- not to mention the outrageous cost -- to have it done by someone else?

It doesn’t make much sense to me, but you may be one of those rare cases who simply wants to pay extra. I know that there are people like that out there, and I have nothing against them, but when I’m trying to get people the best deals, it’s something that I always advise against (for obvious reasons).
