While many people enjoy outdoor spaces, not all have the time, knowledge, or skills to spend gardening. Fire pits can offer an easy alternative for breaking up your lawn. Many people enjoy gardens because flower beds and plants add texture, color, and variety to their lawns. Breaking up the open space of a lawn can convey a sense of depth to the landscaping. But fire pits aren’t just for those who lament their lack of gardening knowledge. You can also use fire pits to increase the coziness of your existing garden. When you’ve spent time and effort planting and tending to a garden, you want to be able to sit and enjoy it.

Breaking up your lawn adds interest. A popular way to break up lawns is to insert flower beds, gardens, or special landscaping. If you pay a professional gardener or landscaper to maintain your plants, you will forfeit a large sum of money. Many people tend to their own flowers and plants. Unfortunately, not everyone possesses the time or desire to maintain plants. Others have time and desire, but not the required skills or knowledge. Nevertheless, they want to enjoy their outdoor areas. People such as these may benefit from outdoor accessories that require less frequent attention and care.

A fire pit offers light, warmth, and an inviting atmosphere to outdoor gatherings. Aside from the initial setup, your main task will be to keep the area around the fire pit clean; keep clutter away and sweep up ashes. You don’t need a green thumb to attend to these tasks. Fire pits can become attractive focal points for your back yard or patio. You might not even miss landscaping as you gather around the fire pit when the sun sinks into the horizon.

Even if you have a garden you are quite proud of, a fire pit can become a focal point when you entertain guests and take time out on your own to relax. What good is your work in the garden, if you never take time to sit and enjoy it? You can even create a little nook in your garden by placing other furniture around the fire pit. A couple chairs provide seating for you and a guest. An accent table brings your theme together and provides a resting place for drinks, dishes, or books. Add a planter in a corner for some extra color.

Using fire pits to break up your lawn adds depth and variety, whatever the state of your landscaping. Your outdoor scene does not have to revolve around plants. If you do enjoy growing plants and flowers, fire pits can still enhance your back yard and create a very inviting atmosphere. When installing and maintaining fire pits, you should follow all manufacturer’s directions carefully, in order to avoid a fire hazard. Once you have installed it, add other touches to make the space seem inviting to you or your family: chairs, tables, and flowers can form a cozy nook around the fire.
