Have you ever heard of the saying that “if you do not take care of your customers, someone else will?” There is truth to the saying. Being customer service focused will help you keep your relationships with your clients strong and they will be happy. So, what steps can you take in order to show them that you appreciate their business?

First, examine your communications system. Make sure that it is easy to contact you. Everyone uses email for business correspondence. So much so, that it has almost lost its edge as being the focal point of a good contact management system. Incoming email floods your box everyday and the important messages get lost among the junk email.

That is why you need to implement an 800 number and PBX system into your business. It gives you a solid business structure upon which you can take care of your customers and show them that you value them highly.

Value them. Show them that you appreciate their business by obtaining an 800 number which allows them to call you at no charge. This also sends the message that it is easy to do business with you and prospects appreciate that message.

Value their time. When you set up your PBX system, it comes with recommendations for setting up information extensions that allow customers and prospects to listen to pre-sales and/or support information that can help them understand what you can do for them. Also, you can implement the ‘follow-me’ feature that allows phone calls to be routed to multiple phones in case they are not answered.

Value input. Efforts to keep customers satisfied includes listening to feedback that they give regarding your business. Including a customer service voice mailbox will allow them to leave messages about their experiences with you.

The amount of time that you spend on phone calls can be staggering. Plus, calls never come at the most opportune times. It never fails, you are concentrating on a business task and the phone rings. A PBX systems gives your callers many more options for reaching people. They will find the menu system easy to use when it comes to reaching a specific department or person.

Taking care of your customers has never been easier to do. Get your business in shape and make sure that you are doing what needs to be done so that when it comes time for repeat business or referrals, your customers will give glowing reviews. And, you will not have to worry about losing your customers to your competition.

In taking care of your customers you begin to build momentum which will help carry you through tough economic times like those that we find ourselves in right now. You will be able to work with your clients and make sure that their needs are being met in the best ways possible.

Look into an 800 number and PBX system. You will discover that the price is lower than you think. And, the systems are easy to set up and begin to use. What are you waiting for, start today and keep your customers coming back!
