There are lots of great Texas Holdem players out there, and perhaps an equal number of consistent winners at Omaha poker. But do you have what it takes to play both supremely well? Find out by playing Ha Poker. Ha poker is a combination of Texas Holdem and Omaha that can be quite fun and profitable if you develop a Ha poker strategy that works for you.

Ha Poker Strategy: Learning Your Opponents’ Strengths (or Lack Of)

No matter who comes to the Ha poker table, one thing is a given: both games that make up Ha poker are not everyone’s strong suit. They may be gifted at one but lacking in the other. Your job is to find out what your opponents’ strong suits are and weave that bit of information into your Ha poker strategy. Although Holdem and Omaha have a greater number of similarities than they do differences, there are differences between the two that make one or the other easier for you (and for your competition). The same strategy that is used for Omaha does not automatically transfer over to the Holdem game. Knowing that upfront gives you an edge over your opposition. While Omaha is game of odds and planning, Holdem is more a game of managing risks and aggressive play. Careful observation during Ha poker during each leg of the game is vital. Look for players who play loose or those that call or check in Holdem. Nine times out of ten, that’s an Omaha player, and Omaha is his best game. Also, search for players who play tightly before the flop in Omaha, and you likely have a Holdem player on your hands. (Raise this player to the max before the flop to see him fold.

Ha Poker Strategy: Your Own Hand

The single biggest part of your Ha poker strategy should be the exploitation of your opponents’ hands, and letting your own skills shine through. If you are a good poker player and you are ready for mixed poker game play, you already have the strategies in place that you need to win. Your biggest task is focusing not on your own hand, but on squeezing what you can from others that are weaker players. If you are better at one game than the other (as is natural), save your more aggressive hard core play for that game in particular. You have to adapt to your opponent in Ha poker, and making this adaption is far more necessary than worrying about playing a perfect game. Identification of your oppositions’ deficiencies in Holdem or Omaha is the first step to playing off of those same weaknesses and give you the biggest edge. Domination in Ha poker means playing your cards to the fullest extent you can, but playing your opponents as well. Eventually, this will psychologically wear down even the toughest player, and you will see your own bankroll increase. This is almost like training your opponents around the Ha poker table to lose.

Ha Poker Strategy: Preparing to Win

Since there are two different games to master in Ha poker, practice of the game is necessary. Granted you won’t be a pro at both, but knowing everything that you can about each, and noting different strategies that should be used from each seated position from the dealer is a great way to get ready for a Ha poker game. Many big mixed poker enthusiasts will practice each game specifically for a period of time before practicing them altogether. Find out what practice method works best for you and apply it to win big in Ha poker.
