Guests will also appreciate having a chair to either actually sit on while they dress and undress or simply to lay their clothes on. If you like a totally coordinated room small casual armless chair, often referred to as nursing chairs, can have beautiful covers placed over them in a matching fabric.

Stripped floor boards are also a good option in guest rooms as they are easy to keep clean and your guests won’t be too embarrassed if they spill anything on them! You can always add a rug beside the beds to give them a soft, warm touch when they get out of bed!

Inject subtle colour into the room by adding cushions on the bed with a coordinating coloured cushion on each of the chairs. Don’t forget that guests like to have some draw space and somewhere to hang their clothes, particularly if they are staying for more than one night.

Keep wall decoration simple and non cluttered to give the illusion of more space and include a well placed mirror for their convenience if the room doesn’t have an en suite bathroom and to provide another illusion of more space as well as additional light. Include a small table lamp or matching bedside table lamps if you have a space for two individual bedside tables which have a shade or shades in the same colours you have used for the cushions to provide cohesion to the room.
