If you have just recently gotten out of a relationship, you will know that it happened for a reason. The reason could be many, but the fact is, you broke up. Many people will automatically start to blame the other half, but what you have to realize is; it takes two to tango! As the man, you need to start taking responsibility in your part for the breakup. No, it was not all her fault.

Why You Need to fix Yourself First

You need to focus on fixing you and then getting back together because you need to come to grasps on why you acted the way you did. Many people think they are mature enough to handle a relationship, however, we soon realize that maybe we weren’t. I am not talking about just younger adults; I am talking about those thirty and up as well.

In life, we go from relationship to relationship. For the most part, we learn from each relationship. This is how we grow as a person and as a partner. We will typically not find many partners that actually make us value the concept of a relationship. When you do find these people, it makes all the difference in the world. In this case, if you want to get back with your ex girlfriend, you will need to make sure you are prepared to be a better partner.

What You Need to Do

You will need to really look at the instances that made tension; instead of seeing all her fault, focus in on you. What did you say? What were your particular actions? When you focus on yourself, you will find you could have handled it better. I am not saying that she could not have handled it better- but what would have happened if you just would have listened, saw her side and then tried to explain calmly, or even let it subside for a few minutes?

Think about fixing yourself and then getting back together. In other words, do it right. If you do not look at your faults, you will end up in the same situation if you happen to get back together with the woman you broke up with. Moreover, you will continue this pattern for the rest of your life and never truly be happy with anyone. This is often a sad truth that falls among many people.

After you have looked at yourself, you can only then approach your ex girlfriend. If you just blurt out that you have “fixed” yourself, she will see this as just another ploy and lie. Instead, show her you have made positive changes. Let her know, if she asks, that you did it for yourself. You saw some things in you that you didn’t like and it lead to you losing one of the most important things in your life. With a statement like that, she will realize that you are truly looking out for the best interest of your relationship.

So before you take a plunge at getting your ex girlfriend back without thinking; think about getting yourself straight and then getting back together.
