As the conference website states, Vancouver is a hub for "...hydrogen and fuel cell R&D and demonstrations and is home to arguably the world's largest cluster of companies and research institutions."

The event itself is being hosted in a brand new building at the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre. The new building was designed with green technology in mind and includes a 6-acre green roof with more than 400,000 indigenous plants. It also includes seawater heating and cooling, on-site water treatment, and a fish habitat built right into the facility.
