Texas is known for many things that visitors flock to visit every year but many don’t realize that Texas has so much more to offer than just the Alamo and rodeo. Visitors to Texas may experience a wide variety of sporting activities, great food, and cultural activities galore. The outdoor activities available to visitors are unique and exciting, and there are numerous activities that are great for family vacations. Texas also has a romantic side to it that will delight the couple that visits here for a romantic getaway. And don’t forget all the memories to be had for friends that just want to getaway and be free in the open range. What ever your reasons for coming to Texas you’re sure to find plenty to do, sure to have a good time, and sure to be delighted by scenery that you’ll see in very few other places in America.

One thing that visitors to Texas realize is that there are numerous outdoor activities to enjoy. The state boasts 600 miles of beaches along the Gulf Coast. Visitors find that they love the relaxation and calmness that the beaches here will bring them and many come here specifically for the beaches themselves. Camping is also a popular outdoor activity for visitors to the state as well. Texas has a number of diverse and exciting areas to camp and enjoy the great outdoors. One such site is the Palo Duro Canyon State Park with its 1000-foot deep canyon and blazing sunset. But Palo Duro in only one of 130 state parks where visitors can enjoy the Texas Panhandle and spend the night with the stars. Finally, an outdoor activity that Texas is known for is a Trip to the Rodeo. The state boast a number of areas where visitors can ride, watch, or sit back and relax and enjoy a true Texan experience.

The state of Texas also has a rich history full of exciting stories of the Wild West and the open range. Visitors have the opportunity to tour the Texas Forts Trail where they can get a true dose of what Texas history is all about by visiting a number of battle sites, and pioneer settlements as well as many other historical sites or take the Texas Plains Trail along which visitors can experience a true chuck wagon breakfast. Texas also has a rich African American history as well as a rich Mexican history as well. Evidence of these rich histories can be found throughout the state.

Finally, Texas hosts nearly 3,000 exciting events each year so no matter what time of year you decide to visit Texas you’ll be sure to find something to do. Here you will find everything from guided battlefield tours to the annual Celtic Festival to the Goliad County Fair and Rodeo, visitors will always find something to do that they will be sure to enjoy.

Whatever kind of vacation you plan to take in Texas you can count on finding the excitement and adventure unlike you will anywhere else.
