Mississippi is known for many things but many visitors come here for the breathtaking scenery, the rich history, and fantastic restaurants. Visitors to the state can take a ride through the magnificent Mississippi Pine Belt, take a tour of the historic downtown area in Hattiesburg, or enjoy world class golf amid the spectacular views but whatever you do you will immediately see why so many visitors vacation in Mississippi every year. There is no shortage here of exciting and adventuresome things to do, your biggest concern will be what to do first.

Evidence of Mississippi’s rich history can be found throughout the state. Visitors who love to tour historic homes have the opportunity to take the Search for the Gold Architectural Driving Tour upon which can be viewed more than 50 historic homes, or visit one of the many other historic homes throughout the rest of the state. Guests to the state of Mississippi also have the opportunity to tour a Greek Revival mansion dating back to 1850, the Army Regional Museum, or visit the Historic Hancock County Courthouse. At the Biloxi City Cemetery visitors have a chance to view tombstones dating back to the 1800’s, and the Biloxi Lighthouse is always a treat for the history buff. There is definitely no shortage of historical places in the beautiful state of Mississippi.

For those vacationers that enjoy being outside there is plenty to do as well. Many visitors come here every year specifically to enjoy the beautiful and diverse scenery throughout the state. Visitors here can enjoy horseback riding on 70 acres of magnificent land at the Green Woods Stables, sail into the sunset on one of the states many charter boats, have some fun in the sun at the Shiloh Splash Park water park, or camp at one of the states many individual and unique campgrounds. And don’t forget that Mississippi also offers world class fishing and golf as well. Whatever your style is, whatever activities you enjoy outdoors, you’ll be sure to find it in Mississippi.

Last but not least Mississippi has some of the richest culture to offer visitors who seek out just that. In Canton those that come to the state will have a chance to get a taste for that rich culture at the Multicultural Center and Museum where visitor cal learn about everything from music to education to slavery. In Choctaw visitors have the opportunity to explore the Choctaw Indians at the Choctaw museum, or in Clarksdale visitors can enjoy the good old southern blues at the Cat Head Delta Blues and Folk Art shop or the Delta Blues Museum. The state also holds a number of culture rich festivals and shows throughout the year and is home to many spectacular art museums in different areas all over the state. The state of Mississippi has no shortage of culture rich activities that the whole family can enjoy or even just the couple on a romantic getaway. The state is diverse and exciting, exactly the traits that have so many coming back again and again.
