Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising is among the most effective methods of targeting potential customers and attracting them to your website. Any search of the particular keyword will bring up your sponsored advertisement in a box, and users who click on it will be directed to your site.

Focus on your Niche Market

In order to know your niche, you must know which search terms are used most by Internet search engine users when they search for sites like yours. You should first brainstorm and invent as many key phrases that describe your products as possible. You can then use the best search engines to look for other phrases that you may not have thought of on your own. Expanding the keywords you already have will give your product descriptions greater depth. There are free tools online that you can use to aid you in this process and you simply have to type ‘keyword too’ into any Internet search engine.

Choose Keywords That are Less Contested

The pay per click advertising business is highly competitive, and your keywords of choice might be beyond your budget to bid for. The best way to make use of pay per click services is to select variations of your keyword of choice that are less contested. These keywords will therefore cost you less. There is keyword analyzing software that is available that will help you find low competition keywords. While you can avail of free software that is easily available on the internet you can also choose to purchase specialized software online.

You can find out the number of campaigns using a particular keyword even without using a keyword analyzer tool if you simply type the keyword into the top web search engines and count the resulting ads.

Write Attention Grabbing Advertisements

Most pay per click advertisements consist of 125 characters or less. You have a limited amount of space in which to sell your product, and the key to doing that is putting yourself in your customer’s shoes and figuring out what they want to get out of your product. Certain search engines, including Google, take relevancy into account when ranking your listing. It does this by measuring the number of times your site is viewed versus the number of times it is clicked. You should include your main keyword in both the title and body of your ad as people viewing your ad will more likely decide to click through to your site.

Testing Your Advertisements

When you have finished writing one ad, you should write another one and run both at the same time to find out which ad attracts more customers that click through or actually make purchases. Keep writing new ads and running them against the previous high scorer and you will have the best ad possible in no time.

After some time, you will find yourself familiar with the pay per click programs and you will be able to write effective ads without having to put much thought into it anymore.
