Inexpensive windows will distort over time with exposed to extreme heat and cold which makes them hard to open and can leak. Steel windows are more resistant to the weather, but are very expensive and you won't usually find them in homes. However, if you have the money, these are the best for the bucks. Aluminum windows are more durable than wood windows. They are lighter, thinner and easier to handle. The finish protects the aluminum for corroding, but should not be used in coastal areas due to the moist salty air.
