Betting may happen after the dealer has turned the roulette wheel and had already spun the ball and had placed it inside the spinning wheel.

When the ball and wheel are slowing down in its spinning motion the dealer will close the betting process. The winner will be determined by the position of the ball on to which number it landed. Winners will be paid their earnings while the loser’s chips will be gathered by the dealer.

Statistically speaking the house advantage for an American roulette is 5.6% while for a European roulette it is 2.7% which is greatly reduced because of the fact that the latter does not have the extra number double zero. Making roulette a more exciting casino game to play.
