Is your Microsoft Outlook account full of duplicate contacts?

For those who use Microsoft Outlook as their main email software, the idea of having duplicate contacts in your Contact folder is probably not a new one. If you have imported a set of contacts into Microsoft Outlook, and they have the same names and emails as previous Contacts, you may find yourself with duplicates of many, if not all contacts. For those who use their mobile devices with their Outlook account, you are probably aware that duplicates of all your contacts are made when transferring.

When one has duplicate contacts in their Outlook account, lots of space is being wasted, for absolutely no reason. This will ultimately slow down Outlook, and your PC, greatly.

Sadly, Microsoft Outlook does not include a feature where users are able to search for duplicate contacts and then get rid of them. Users are forced to have to manually look through hundreds or thousands of contacts, and manually delete the duplicates. In order to ensure you do not delete any incorrectly, you must compare each contact with all the previous ones. At such a rate, it will take an extremely long time to completely finish this. As you probably guessed, most people give up after a while, as it is just too much work.

How can I get rid of duplicate contacts?

To effectively find and delete duplicate contacts, a good program is required, otherwise you could be working at it manually for hours.

Remove Duplicate Contacts is an powerful, simple, and automated program that allows users to search for duplicate contacts, and then delete, move or copy as they wish.

The program is compatible with Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 2008, Windows 7, and works on both Outlook 2007 and 2003.Business Contact Manager is supported.

The program is an add-on and is integrated right into Outlook for easy use. All you need to do once it is integrated is start Outlook, and with a few clicks, you will be under way.

Remove Duplicate Contacts can be used to automatically search for and process duplicate contact items in each individual folder or across a group of folders according to their priority.

It has an easy-to-use Wizard, the process is very easy. Everything you have to do is to follow Wizard's instructions.

A duplicate contact item found can be:

Deleted (to Deleted Items folder)
Deleted permanently
Copied to specified folder
Moved to specified folder

Features

Speedy searching and processing (delete, move, copy, etc...)
Over a million contact items that are supported
Ability to compare attachments from every duplicate contact
Ability to choose whether program works for one user, or all users
Ability to easily enable or disable the add-on
Very small file (less than 1MB)

The software consists of two different work modes, both of which are quite useful.

The first mode is "Search for duplicate contacts in every single folder".

In this mode, the program looks through every single folder in Outlook, and does not compare folders to one another. Contacts will only be marked as duplicates if they are found in the same folder.

This mode is made for those attempting to find duplicates within a certain category. You then have the ability to get rid of contacts that useless and unneeded.

The second mode is "Search for duplicate contacts throughout several folders based on their priority".

In this mode, the program will look for duplicate throughout all the selected folders, not only one folder.

If duplicates are found, the program will automatically keep the one that is higher priority. Then, the user will have the ability to perform a number of actions with the duplicate contacts.

This mode is very useful because one can look for duplicates that are in different folders. You can use this mode to get rid of contacts that you only created as backups in the first place. It will also help you from having unnecessary contacts in your contact folder. This way, your emails will likely be sent much faster, and Outlook will work faster altogether.

Needless to say, Remove Duplicate Contacts is a must have for those who are avid users of Outlook. With more and more computer users turning to Outlook, many programs are springing to make Outlook even better. Remove Duplicate Contacts is one of those programs, and undoubtedly one of the most and most useful!
