Varanasi City is holy place for the people in India and has attracted lots of visitors because of its unspoiled beauty. These visitors can stay in different hotels that can provide great amenities and excellent services.

Varanasi City is located at the western part of the River Ganges in India. It is also known as Benares, Banaras, and Kashi in different Indian languages. The city is considered to be sacred to Hindus, Buddhists, and Jains. It is one of the oldest cities in the world that is still inhabited by its people. Varanasi and River Ganges are closely related when it comes to religion because the city became the center for culture and religion as well a thousand years ago. It is also known as “the city of temples.”

The city of Varanasi relies economically on its many small cottage industries such as silk sari making, textile making, and handicrafts. These small industries provide employment for many people.

Varanasi City is run by auto rickshaws, cycle rickshaws, and mini buses as its means of transportation. It can be visited thru air, rail, and buses from all the Indian cities.

Visitors continue to come to Varanasi because of its unique culture. The city has been known for its beautiful handicrafts made of brass and cloths in silk. There are also a good number of restaurants, shopping places, and star hotels in Varanasi.

Varanasi has noteworthy places of interest. There are many temples to see with structures depicting a culture unique to India. One example is the Vishwanath Temple or “the Golden Temple,” very much secured with strict rules implemented to visitors. There is also the Nepali Hindu Temple, Durga Temple and Tulsi Manas Temple.

You might also want to include in your itinerary the Alamagir Mosque, Man Mandir Observatory, Banaras Hindu University, and Ram Nagar Fort.
