Halloween is a fun time for children. They can go on trick or treating with other children. But Halloween will not be complete without costumes. And we all know that children love portraying roles. You can buy costumes at a store, but it can mean that other children might have the same costume as your child’s.

So why don’t you make a costume of your child on your own? In this way, your kid’s costume will be very unique and make your kid noticeable. Homemade costumes are also more comfortable than costumes from stores. And you can also make the costumes with your kids, making it a fun activity for the family. The good news is that you don’t have to be Martha Stewart to be able to make

You don’t need to be an expert in sewing to create a creative Halloween costume. There are a number of things that you can use to make a unique costume. But the first thing you have to do before making or designing a costume is to ask your child first who or what he/she wants to be. It is also important that you don’t make you’re kid’s costume too big if your child is going to a crowded party. And most importantly, you have to make sure that your child can get out of his or her costume whenever he or she needs to use the restroom.

So here are some costume ideas for Halloween.

1. If your child wants to a soldier, you can easily make weapons and other props out of cardboard that is painted and covered with foil. Then you can let him or her wear camouflage clothing. You can also add some camouflage make up, a canteen and a backpack.

2. Your child can be cowboy or cowgirl by wearing jeans and a western shirt with boots and a bandana. And you can even add a cowboy hat.

3. He or she can become a fireman by using a yellow raincoat and yellow pants, black electrical tape, black spray paint, a fire hat and black boots. You can wrap the electrical tape twice around each arm and leg of the raincoat and pants.

4. Your child can become a gypsy by letting your child wear a long flowing skirt and a puffy blouse. You can then add lots of gold jewelry, a belt and a shawl for effect.

5. You can let your child become a mummy by letting him or her wear white clothing. You can either wrap strips of white sheets or old t-shirts or use gauze.

6. Your child can also become a scarecrow by letting him or her wear a pair of jeans with patches, if possible, and a long flannel shirt. You can then attach straw to the cuffs and shirt using duct tape. You can then top it off with a quick and straw hat and use an eyebrow pencil to draw a large smile and triangle shapes around the eyes. Though this is not recommended for boys.

These are just some costume ideas for your kids. And the type of costume that you can make can also depend on the materials available. You can try looking around your house for costume materials or buy at a nearby Goodwill store. But always remember to have fun creating with your kids.
