Many job seekers all over the world would jump at the chance to be able to get a one on one with the management recruiter, because it is through them that the roads can be opened and they can get where they want to be in their career paths.

Management recruiters have the best connections and some of the best corporations behind them, waiting for their recommendations on candidates that have the potential to be a leader in an organisation. When you meet these executive head hunters, you need to be able to overwhelm them and win them over and if you are looking to do so there are certain things you need to do.

First and foremost, you need to consider the fact that you might have to do your homework, which means you need to get all the information that you need. You need to know what the market is like, what are the duties you would be needed to perform, the traits everyone looks for in a manager and also, learn about the head hunter’s own needs and special interests. You need to know what they are looking for and what industry they represent, so you can attack them at their own game and win them over with your knowledge. You also need to asses your own skill sets and aptitudes as a person and as a professional and present them together with your action plan.

You need to be confident and you need to present yourself as someone who is a leader and know what they are talking about. This is where your resume comes into the picture and the better your resume, the more chance you have of impressing them. Now this is not only down to the experience you may have, but how you value added each company that you joined. You need to right down what you achieved, what you changed and how you revolutionarised the system.

You need to market yourself as the difference - and how with your energy and experience, can you make the same difference to the companies behind this executive head hunter. Your resume must be well thought out, and if must show your qualities as a person – this is because for the record, when you leave that interview, that will be the one speaking to the head hunter and when he refers to it again, he needs to be reminded why you are so good in the first place.

The last thing that should be done is that you need to line up a list of the most solid and shining references you can get your hands on. Call up your old bosses, especially those that were solidly impressed with your work and ask for written testimonials as well. The more good information they have about you, the better for you it is. With these things ready in hand, you will definitely wow the head hunter and soon, your phone will be ringing for that interview you always wanted.
