I went to watch 'X-Men Origin: Wolverine' movie a few week ago. And the reason I went was because a close friend of mine can't stop talking about the movie; the action, the characters, heroes, villains. So I went to check things for myself.

And there were many occasion similar to this.

For example, I went to test the food at a new joint my team members were raving about. I went to see a place full of fireflies at night after hearing my brother's animated story. And all these prove one important point: relationship sells.

Because affiliate often time are buyers themselves (that's a big help to them as you shall see later). And affiliate makes me more sales just like my friend who watch X-Men, my team members who lunch at the new joint, and my brother who went to see the fireflies.

They talked and they convinced people whom I'm yet to know. They reach these people hearts (not just minds) through their existing bonds i.e. relationship. And I can't convince people whom I haven't met.

But they can.

That's why Amazon attracts affiliates and willing to go the extra miles to help them. The affiliates in return, provide Amazon with ongoing revenue from the people who Amazon could not possibly meet or know.

And relationship makes it all possible

Imagine the cost it incurs for Amazon if it were to sell to each and every person from every corner of the World?
Now, imagine the amount of profit it generates from recruiting a few souls and have them sell for Amazon indirectly. Isn't that sounds like every business owners dreams?

But if it's already a commodity, and thousands are promoting the same thing like e book, how we could be a class above?

Lets look at a popular marketplace for digital products; Clickbank.

Clickbank has more than hundreds and thousands of affiliate ready to promote its products. If an e book (digital product) came into the market, affiliates will literally race to promote it because they want to make money from it and that's what they do.

There's a big possibility that one affiliate will promote the same e book against each other.

That situation is good for Clickbank but could be hazardous to the affiliate. The profit cake has been sliced into smaller pieces, and it gets smaller with increased number of affiliates.

But even so, some affiliates still make a huge killing from stiff competition. What's the reason?

Invariably, these affiliates had developed the trust and bond for some times. You know this already.
