Increase Your Online Marketing Success With Upsells

Anyone who has an online business will tell you that in order to make money you have to know what your customers want. Of course, this is a true statement, but there are other things that your customers may not know they want. These are the things that you can do to give your website visitors a little extra something that sets you apart from other marketers in your niche.

First of all, no matter what product or service you are marketing, upsells can be your best friends. An upsell can bring in additional income for you that you likely have never considered. Placing an additional product, a larger size, a special report or e-book or any number of other items on your Order Page is an excellent idea if you want to bring in extra income.

If you have ever called a 1-800 number to order something that you have seen on television or in a magazine, then you have likely been offered an upsell during the order placing process. Maybe you were ordering fitness equipment and they offered you vitamins to help with your fitness goal. Or, perhaps you called to order beauty supplies and they offered you a larger size of lotion or cream. These are upsells and they are used to supplement the original offer. They are also used to bring in millions of dollars each year in extra marketing income for sellers around the world.

By listing just one upsell, you could bring in thousands each year in extra revenue. But why stop at just one? You could add two, three or even more upsells to your product or service. Just make sure that your upsells are something that your customers will find useful and then list them on your order page. Most online marketers who use upsells typically bring in an additional twenty-five percent increase on just one product. Imagine the income potential if you added several.

If you do decide to use upsells, then keep in mind that you must play fair. Make sure that you allow your customers to receive the original price that you have offered even if they do not choose to purchase anything additional. Think about all the times that you have gone through a fast-food restaurant drive-thru. Can you count the number of times that you have heard “Would you like fries with that”? Now, can you count the number of times that you actually did order fries when they were offered? See, upsells work. There is no reason that you should not have upsells on your website if you are attempting online marketing. Consumers typically like anything that they feel is a bargain, particularly is today’s troubled economic times. Offering your customers products that will complement your original product just makes sense.

On another note, be sure to always have a Thank You page on your website. Online marketing is one thing, but being polite is vitally important. When customers see this page, they will immediately have a more personal connection with your site. Be sure to always thank your customers when they order from you. This is rule number one is all Public Relations courses. Now, if you are going to implement a Thank You page, why not put it to use? Offer your customers some sort of deal or special offer on this page, just for being a loyal and trusting customer.

There are many ways to add income producing opportunities to your online marketing campaign. Just be sure to provide products and/or services that your targeted audience will appreciate.
