Microsoft Corporation decided to develop Xbox 360 Wifi Adapters because they felt that those people who patronize their products will continue to support them when they think of innovations that can make their products better. Even though Microsoft first launched it in America at first, people eventually realized that this innovation is actually something that will make their lives easier. These Xbox 360 Wifi Adapters can accommodate up to 54Mbps of bandwidth and it allows 802.11b/g networks to connect with the Xbox console which allows users to connect and access Xbox Live through their wireless routers with the same console as well. Even though Microsoft charged their Xbox 360 Wifi Adapters quite expensively, many people still bought them for their own Xbox consoles.

The most common and easy way to have a wireless connection are the Dongles. It is considered as the easiest way to acquire a wireless connection to the Internet for your Xbox 360 console but it is also the most expensive compared to the others. There are three types of Dongles and the first is the one Microsoft Corporation is offering. In my honest opinion, buying this is quite inconvenient since it costs a lot of money at around $87. The next option on the other hand is a third-party wireless adapter which Linksys and Belkin provide at a price range of $65-$70. These options are quite easy to use because all you have to do is just plug them and you can already connect to the Internet in that instant. The cheapest adapter is distributed by Microsoft at $50. You can experience the same quality with the connection it's just that when you plug it, you might have to plug it again so that your Xbox console can actually detect it.

With regard to sharing the Internet connection, according to some studies, Xbox 360 Wifi Adapters have worked more perfectly with Mac operating systems than with those of Windows. If you have followed concrete examples and instructions that involve that configuring the settings needed to share the connection, then you will do just fine. But if you choose to go with the Windows operating system, you would have to do more work and research from the Internet using Google. On the other hand, when you have decided to use the Mac route, you will find more accurate instructions that will not force you to even search from the Internet. The procedure for Mac operating systems are not short and less but users will be assured that even though there are a lot of instructions to follow, every step will be provided for them to just execute. So if you are the type who wants to be spoon-fed the entire time, then the Mac operating system is just for you.

Users should remember though that whichever operating system they choose and whatever Xbox 360 Wifi Adapters they buy, it is still safest to ask help from those who are professionals in dealing with networking problems so that you will be more assured that your wireless connection will actually work.
