With hundreds of online surveys advertised all over the internet, it seems like the hardest job is finding surveys that are legit and that actually pay. For the most part I think marketers are playing the scam thing to their advantage simply because it's actually quite hard for survey sites to scam you.

One of the main reasons why people often feel scammed or ripped off by online surveys is because they have it all wrong and they don't seem to understand how this online survey business really works.

Let me explain...

If you join a site like Survey Scout, they don't actually run the surveys. They simply act as a middle man and are nothing but a directory that lists market research companies that actually run the surveys. These are the companies you will be working for.

In reality you can find these companies yourself and you don't need to pay the $40-$50 membership fee to start earning money from surveys. The problem is that joining one or two of these companies is just not enough to earn you a decent second income.

You need to join at least 20 of these sites to be able to do enough surveys to earn you a substantial income. At an average of $10 a survey, doing 2 a day can earn you as much as $600 a month and you only need to invest an hour of your time every day.

Finding 20 sites on your own can take you weeks, simply because it's so hard to find research companies that match your demographic. This is the one thing that the are very particular about since they need the "right" opinions from the "right" people and if you don't match that you might waste a lot of time finding them, sighing up and never earning a dime from the.

What a survey directory like Survey Scout does is to pre-screen these companies allowing you to find a lot of surveys that match your demographic in just a couple of minutes. Not only does it save you hours of work, but it give you peace of mind knowing that it's not a scam survey and it greatly improves your earnings because you only sign up to sites that will give you surveys.

When people call survey directories "scams" they most often don't even understand how online surveys work - not to mention the fact that they often review sites they've never been members of. Know that surveys directories are simply that - directories and they are designed to help you find the best online surveys at the click of a button.

They simply act as a middleman between you and the surveys and by pre-screening survey sites they can save you a lot of time and hassle. They also provide you with a lot of useful information and support that's essential in making a success of your home survey business.
