Low-density lipoprotein, also know as LDL is bad cholesterol. When you have high levels of LDL you have a higher risk of heart disease. Getting your harmful cholesterol tested is very important in determining if you are at risk for heart disease. With high levels of this toxin it is important that you lower the bad cholesterol intake in your daily diet.

Cholesterol can not dissolve in you blood, so it just circulates and the end up building on to your artery walls this affects your heart and brain. Combine with other toxic substances it can cause a hard buildup in your arteries and cause them to become less flexible. If this continues your will most likely need to get bypass surgery, a heart attack or stroke will occur.

Get your cholesterol tested! You may have to fast 12 hours prior to the test, and then a simple blood draw will take place. If you have an increased level of this harmful substance you may have to go on a low cholesterol diet. Cholesterol comes from the foods you intake, as well as you liver. The liver produces about a thousand milligrams per day. This is not very much, meaning you have to watch what you eat. Eating fruits and veggies, and substituting fish for meat is a great start if you are worried about your cholesterol. Baking apposed to frying foods is essential as well.

People with severe high blood cholesterol levels may need an even greater reduction. Since cholesterol is in all foods from animal sources, you must be careful to eat no more than six ounces of lean meat, fish and poultry per day and to use fat-free and low-fat dairy products. High quality proteins from veggie sources such as leggums are good substitutes for animal sources of protein.

Physical activity effects cholesterol, in a good way. The more exercise you get the higher HDL (good cholesterol) your body produces. This causes a lower risk of heart disease. Also physical activity burns unwanted cholesterol, as well as manages diabetes, weight, and blood pressure. You don’t have to do a vigorous exercise routine. Taking a short walk, dancing, gardening all of these and more can help your health!

Are you a smoker? If you are, you are definitely at a higher risk of heart disease. Not only does the tobacco put toxins into you blood stream that goes into your heart, it lowers your HDL (good cholesterol) and increases the risk of blood clots near the heart.

In recent studies it has been proven that drinking alcohol in moderation associated with higher HDL level. On the other hand, drinking alcohol has many other risks, so the benefit of boosting your HDL is not great enough to recommend drinking if you don’t already consume alcohol. If you drink, do so in moderation.

Before being put on cholesterol medication with risky side effects, try using all natural products that will lover cholesterol. There is a supplement called Cardiopril by Hamida Pharma, It can restrict the liver prom producing the extra cholesterol. Also reduces the LDL from the blood stream.
