You Will Never Lose Weight Until You Praise You

Everyone who loses weight has this in common: they feel good about it. Now, they may not feel good all the time, but as they play through the process of losing weight they begin to increase their self-esteem and feel great about themselves. This feeling good, leads to more of the same good feelings and the cycle continues upwards until they reach their goal.

Have you ever achieved anything in any area of life? I know the answer already. Of course you have! Even if you are sat there right now saying ‘Nope! I’ve never achieved anything in my life’, I know you are lying! Why? Because, without even knowing you, I could tell you hundreds of things that you can do and do well.

You see, whatever you feel is what you will attract. Have you ever noticed that if you start your day in a bad mood you tend to have a horrible day? You finish the day with stories galore of the bad traffic, your horrible boss, how it began to rain when you stepped outside the front door, how you missed your train etc. Your low level energy simply attracts more low level energy to you.

Conversely, and thankfully for us, if you start your day with a big beaming smile on your face, you tend to have a great day. Have you ever had this experience? Everything goes right. You meet wonderful people and have great experiences and end the day on a high. Your high level energy attracts more of the same high level energy. It’s simple and even quantum physics is proving this natural law with scientific proof.

So what creates that high level energy that creates and brings to you all the experiences you wish to have? Well how about this for a nice and easy beginning….SMILE! Smiling is so easy, free and incredibly valuable. And you just try smiling and feeling unhappy at the same time. I bet you can’t!

And when you smile amazing and wonderful things begin to happen to you. If you don’t believe me, for the next 48 hours smile at everyone and everything. Smile, smile and smile some more. Share your smile with the world and your energy will grow. Your entire being will become more alive and your body’s energy will be raised leading to more effective weight loss. Along with that, get ready for some incredible experiences, ‘chance’ meetings and potential life-changing experiences.

Here’s another step you may find odd and uncomfortable: Praise You! What do I mean? Praise yourself. Congratulate yourself. Pat yourself on the back. Reward yourself. Love yourself. Thank yourself.

Now, I know at this point you are probably thinking I’m a tree hugging hippy talking rubbish. But think about this, how do young children learn so effectively? Do they learn from being criticized? Or do they learn from the constant praise and attention they get for trying. Have you ever applauded and loved a baby simply for trying something? Maybe they didn’t even do it ‘right’, but they attempted it and got your recognition for their efforts. Their brain then links up that to attempt whatever the thing was equals love and praise and they learn quickly. Not without getting it wrong a few times on the way I must add.

So what do you think would happen if instead of berating, bemoaning and punishing yourself every time you don’t do something perfect, you rewarded yourself with a big smile, pat on the back and mini celebration simply for giving it a go? I’ll tell you what will happen, your self-esteem will increase dramatically and you will begin to feel better than you have felt in years! And I’ll tell you a little secret, your ability to lose weight is in direct proportion to your ability to raise your self-esteem.

So from this point forward, smile and celebrate. Every time you do anything, even if it doesn’t turn out how you wanted, go ahead and celebrate, reward yourself with the most important source of recognition and love on this planet, your own.
