Diabetics are often in a dilemma as to what to eat, and when to eat. In general everyone needs to follow a balanced diet, but a person with type II diabetes needs to take extra care. When it comes to a woman suffering from type II diabetes, she should choose food that will help control her blood sugar levels. Along with sugar levels, you also need to manage your weight as obesity can trigger other problems. Special care should be taken when meals are planned. Making a healthy choice will prove beneficial to fight back diabetes. There are several diabetics who are leading a healthy and carefree life. With motivation and proper medical assistance you too can live your life to the fullest.

In type II diabetes, it may seem challenging to plan a healthy diet. However, with sound knowledge about various food groups you will find it easy to make a choice. Also consulting a dietitian will help you plan your meals. A diabetic person requires eating small meals in short intervals. Food eaten when fresh is best for people with diabetes type II. A woman with diabetes should understand that she needs to only intake food that is recommended for her. Following a diet plan drafted for your friend or colleague may not work for you.

Ideally every food when eaten in right proportion proves healthy for diabetics. The only difference in diabetic diet is they need to eat in the recommended portions. Depending upon the number of calories your body needs to intake, your doctor will suggest you a meal plan. A diabetic diet is rich in fresh fruits and vegetables. 2 servings of fruits and 3 servings of vegetables throughout the day is a must in a diabetic diet. Vegetables can be used in various forms to make it interesting. Always choose a diet that is low on carbohydrates and fats. Complex carbohydrates are healthy as they get converted into starch slowly.

To include complex carbohydrates in your diet, include whole grains, beans, lentils, brown rice and vegetables in your diet. A bowl of whole grain pasta is healthy and yet delicious. Salads made out of cucumber, lettuce, broccoli, beans, onions and tomatoes are healthy for women with diabetes. Small portion of chicken or turkey breast is recommended in a diabetic diet. 2 slices of brown bread along with sugar free fruit jam can be included in your breakfast. Skimmed milk, sour cream, yoghurt, nuts and herbal tea or coffee are some of the healthy choices you can make when it comes to snacks. Fish and eggs are equally essential in a diabetic diet.

If you are a diabetic woman who loves to binge on sweets, then get yourself a sugar substitutes. There are recipes that will help you make sweets with the help of splenda or other sugar substitutes. These artificial sugars contain no calories but taste like real sugar. When preparing sugar free sweets its best to make a healthy choice of ingredients. Limiting the intake of sugar free sweets is beneficial for people with type II diabetes.

There are several healthy meals that you can plan. Discussing out the meal plans with an experienced dietitian comes in handy when choosing your diets. Woman with diabetes type II should realize that life with this disease can be normal when right food habits are inculcated.
