There are many ways to make money online and most of them work. If you work them.

Two of the most popular methods for making money online are the affiliate method and the publisher method. I don't mean to sound confusing, it's what they call it and here's what it means.

A publisher is a person or company that has a product that they market online. They have a website salespage and some online marketing techniques going on in the background, giving them some sales. But the BIG sales come from their "affiliates".

An affiliate is a person that knows how to market online (get targeted traffic) and chooses to market products that have an affiliate commission built into the sales price that the affiliates receive when one of their referred customers makes a purchase.

It happens a LOT! There are affiliates that make HUNDREDS of sales per day.

An affiliate marketer, once they know what they are doing, has a pretty easy job.

Their job is to bring customers to the offer. (and get paid for doing so)

Here's an example. Let's say you have chosen "Four Day Natural Acne Cure" at $97 for the download.

Your job, as an affiliate, is to create advertisements out there on the 'net that will bring people looking for a natural acne cure to your publishers sales page by way of your personal affiliate link. Your link has a code in it that identifies you as the person to receive the commission payment.

So far, in this article, I have been referring to digital download info products. Yes, people pay for information if the information is of use to them.

And, these products can be very profitable. The affiliate commissions run approximately 50% to 75% of the sale price. That's right - sell a $97 product and get over $70 in commission!

At $70 income per sale an affiliate can be VERY well paid. And the affiliate will have more money to spend on advertising.

Many online marketers have made a lot of money posting a classified ad in a "teen" magazine. This tip is worth a bundle and there are entire download packages selling this one sentence marketing technique.

Forget about the fancy sales packages with pictures of cars and mansions and promises of fast wealth. They mostly don't work out for the people who purchase them, but, they are red hot in the market because newcomers to this form of selling fall for the "easy" sales pitch.

So, if you want to make money online as an affiliate marketer there are some things you have to know and some skills you have to learn. They are not difficult if pursued with diligence.

What I did to learn to be a marketer was make a list of the things I'd better know if I was going to be able to do this and I started on number one. For me that was learning to build a landing page. I got one for free instead. After that I had to get a domain name and hosting so my page would have a URL address to send people to. I got that free, too!

You can learn this craft and make good money at it. But it sure pays off to be systematic about learning how to do it. Learn one thing, and then, learn the next.
