So you've done the research, you have discussed it with your doctor, decided what kind of workout you need, and finally picked the kind of treadmill that meets all of your specifics. Now you just need to determine what your budget will allow, if you want to go all out and get the latest model with every feature you could possibly dream of, or if you are going to do some comparison shopping and get not simply the cheapest treadmill of your chosen criteria, but get the one that offers what you need, at a price that reflects the quality.

At the bottom of the list is the manual treadmill. This is fully reliant on you to move and many people just stop using it in a very short period of time. A couple weeks is usually the lifespan of a manual and can be purchased around $100 or $200. If you choose to spend a few hundred dollars more you can get a treadmill that includes a motor. For this you should receive the option to change your speed and rate preferences.

Many people choose to look for a mid range treadmill. By definition this is a treadmill with a price range between $1,500 and $3,000. In this category you should receive a good and stable machine that comes with some extras such as a range of preset workout styles, blood pressure monitor and other small things you can customize; creating an interesting and enjoyable workout. Look for a lifetime warranty when you buy a mid range treadmill; as you should be able to pick out one you want, and if it does not offer a lifetime warranty then it shouldn't be much trouble to find a machine pretty much identical in features and price from a different manufacturer that will offer the lifetime warranty.

An average yet effective, and honestly all you need from a treadmill should be priced around $2000 and a bit over. If you want a treadmill that is honestly even worth buying you must expect to pay at the least $2000. Anything under really will not provide the acceptable quality for a fair price. With that in mind, and a suggested budget of around $2500 to $3000 you should receive a 2 ply belt, easy to understand operating options on the console, large rollers, DC motor, and a sturdy frame made from alloy steel or aluminum. You should feel safe and comfortable when using the treadmill and it should not be more than a slight bit loud. You should definitely be able to have a conversation as you would normally.

If you are building a home gym and want the best of the best your price range should be at least $5000, any be as high as your imagination takes you. For a treadmill of this type you should receive maximum durability and performance, digital assistance system, several customized workouts, automatic adjustment during your workout based on your predetermined settings, top quality motor, comfort features (built in fans), lifetime warranty, at least 5 year service guarantee, designed to reduce impact, and tons of extras. For this price, expect everything even the highly unnecessary.
