If you're interested in buying a condo in this beautiful ski resort, you should first figure out where you want your second home to be located. This ski town is divided into four distinct areas -- Vail Village, Lionshead, East Village and West Village. Each area has its own unique feature and offers many options either to rent or buy. Since opening many years ago, the most preferred area has been the Vail Village which has direct access to the slopes. This is changing. Lionshead has just finished a major renovation, spending many millions of dollars in the Lionshead square alone and has plans to spend one billion dollars more in the Lionshead area. They are also installing an additional gondola there. Many condos there are now costing two, three and up to eleven million dollars each. Obviously, purchasing or renting a condo in this area can be an expensive proposition for those on a tight budget.

East Village is popular with many skiers who spend their days skiing on the slopes and then spending time in their secluded condos and home rentals. West Vail is adjacent to the ski resort and is quite close to the slopes, restaurants and pubs. However, West Vail offers convenience and solitude without being intrusive.
