Egypt is a large exciting country with many famous sights, and a wide variety of choice. Why restrict yourself to one city or one resort, especially when you may only have a week to spend on your holidays to Egypt? For a trip that offers real value, you should consider an Egypt multi centre holiday.

Cairo to Luxor (7 nights)

The pyramids are likely the first thing you imagine when thinking of Egypt. Multi centre holidays to this land of history should rightly start with Cairo so you can be near the pyramids at Giza. You will marvel at the scale of these wonders of the ancient world; for thirty-eight centuries the Great Pyramid at Giza was the world’s tallest structure, and at about 230 metres wide you will feel dwarfed by the magnitude of this enduring stone edifice.

The Movenpick Pyramids Resort is one of the hotels in Egypt best placed to visit Giza and you might want to spend three nights here on a multi centre holiday. Egypt’s capital, Cairo, is nearby with its many sites that any tourist won't want to miss. Choose from stepping back in time at the Citadel, visiting the hanging church at the Babylon Fortress, and taking in an elevated and rotating view of the city at the Cairo Tower's restaurant, as well as innumerable other places to absorb the city's cultural flavour.

With all this within reach, The Movenpick Hotel is a good choice. It has bright modern rooms, a large heated swimming pool, and a choice of restaurants and bars including a stylish restaurant with a breathtaking view of the pyramids.

An internal flight (included in the package) by Egypt Air from Cairo to Luxor will take you from one historical wonder to another, and to the second of your hotels in Egypt. While in Luxor you'll stay four nights in the Maritim Jolie Ville. This is a 24-acre, palm lined island resort on the River Nile. There’s a shuttle bus laid on to take you to the city.

Among the sites to visit on the West Bank of the Nile are the tombs in the Valley of the Kings, and the Temple to Ramesses the Great (Ramesseum). On the East Bank of Luxor you can see the Mummification Museum, and the statues and carvings of the Luxor Temple, and it’s on this side of the river that you’ll find your hotel.

The Maritim has provisions for family holidays to Egypt: a kids club, ice cream corner, bikes for hire to explore the island, a football playground, and many more activities. You might be shocked to learn that one of the hotel's residents is a crocodile, but fear not, it’s kept safely in the zoo. Just for the adults, there’s a separate pool, a number of sports facilities, a Jacuzzi, a shisha smoking area, and a quiet restaurant with views of the Nile.

If you’d like to see more of the Nile, and more of Egypt, there’s a multi centre holiday to Egypt available with a ten day itinerary including transfer from Cairo to Luxor by train and then on to Hurghada. There are many similar variations to consider, such as the destinations of Sharm El Sheikh, and the Siwa Oasis, as well as a choice other quality hotels.

The benefit and charm of taking a multi centre holiday in Egypt is that without doubling your days off work, you can cram more culture, more sights and more variety into your time in the country. It’s a holiday format for people who can appreciate the relaxation of lounging in the sunshine, but are unwilling to do that for the whole of their holidays to Egypt. Exploration and relaxation in equal measure.
