When you are running a successful business such as a country club, hotel or a resort, it is important to take care of your pool patio furniture to maintain and keep up appearances as well as to make sure your pool patio furniture last for as long as possible and stays looking great.

Most pool patio furniture is made from vinyl and, with proper maintenance it is possible to prolong the longevity of the furniture. Bleach, pool cleaner and many other products including sun tan lotion and oils can all cause damage to pool patio furniture and it can also become stained and hard to clean if not properly looked after and so it is important to choose the chemicals that you are going to use to clean them carefully.

There are several ways to clean your pool patio furniture, and one easy way to help keep it clean is by making sure that all customers use a towel on the furniture. If you enforce this rule then it will keep your patio furniture cleaner for longer and it can also double the life of your pool patio furniture.

Pressure cleaning or pressure washing is also a very good way of cleaning pool patio furniture by using simple plain water on a low pressure. With a pressure cleaner you can also use a mild detergent but never use chlorine because this can damage the furniture. You can also get a disinfectant which is made to be used with pressure cleaners which has ammonium chloride in it and this can help to disinfect furniture without harming the materials. It is important to note that you should always use the lowest pressure because you could end up blowing the patio furniture into the pool!

Another way to clean patio pool furniture to keep it sparkling and in great condition for your hotel or resort is to use a mild soap with warm water. First of all, clean the furniture with a brush and then use soap and water to break down stains. When the patio furniture gets older, try adding a capful of bleach into a water solution to get rid of hard to move stains and bring back the whiteness of the seats etc.

You should make sure that patio pool furniture is cleaned at least once a week by wiping down the surfaces and every six weeks you should make sure that you wipe down underneath the furniture to get rid of any dirt and grime.

Another important tip when it comes to cleaning pool furniture is to make sure you wax the frames of the furniture by waxing the legs and arms and any other areas with a non abrasive wax. Never use compound wax, try car wax instead to make that pool furniture shine and look good all year around.

Another good tip for keeping your pool patio furniture clean is- never throw it into the pool! Chlorine can damage the materials and can cause corrosion and it will mean that you will soon need new patio furniture.
