Meditation is the name of the game if you want out, and fast, when it comes to stress, tension and a hectic unhealthy lifestyle. It is a simple procedure really, and has helped millions find a piece of mind, peace and satisfaction not available by many other means. Especially those of us living in cities will feel the need for meditation tremendously. Its effects are manifold and beneficial, its requirements minimal. There are several methods of meditation, some of them being Zen, Healing, Transcendental, Hindu, Mantra, Candle Light, Moving and Passive meditation. All of these are extremely useful and helps in treating several illnesses and ailments.

The best way to be relieved of stress and the easiest is easily meditation. Tension, frustration, failure-these three things have become part and parcel of modern life. What meditation does is simple and at the same time, remarkable in its implication: it builds you up from the inside, keeps you steady and peaceful from within, so the worst cases of tension even don’t upset you.

Zen meditation has been all the rage in recent times. Eastern Buddhism teaches us this, and Zen meditation helps us concentrate and build an impressive attention span. Monks generally resort to this because they want to connect with their inner God and ask questions on divinity in their minds, and thus be at peace with who they are, but what about us? Why do we need it? It’s simple: a hectic fast paced, technology obsessed life has brought with it worries of many kinds, and in large numbers. To do away with the same, we need to strengthen ourselves to withstand these troubles and stand tall in the end.

Some features include:
• Zazen is another name by which Zen meditation goes. It means to study oneself. There are several methods of teaching oneself Zazen, and also to master it, and these include not only physical exercises, but mental also.

• Breathing is a quintessential part of Zen meditation. You’ll be lost without the marvelous techniques of simple breathing that has helped so many in this regard. Inhaling should ideally have you concentrating mentally on every part of your body, telling yourself how the breath flows all over, while exhalation should have you relaxing instead.


• You should always hold a positive outlook towards life. A positive perspective will get you far, and keep you happy, cheerful and optimistic. Thus you will lead a much better fulfilling life than ever before!

• There really aren’t any strict or hard and fast rules when it comes to meditating. You have to be in tune with who you are as a person, and know your mind. Be comfortable with what you practice.

• Audio programs help too. You’d do well to go with ‘Deep Zen Meditation’, which helps you relax and distress. It is one of the many examples in which technology and spirituality go together hand in hand. What the audio program does is soothe your brain’s auditory system.

And it’s very simple too. All it involves is you plugging in those headphones and just plain listening. You will soon enough reach a calm, meditative state, and this is primarily due to the dominant pattern of the wave at the required frequency of the program.
