If you want to know how to sell things on eBay, then study eBay PowerSellers because they are skilled in doing just that - even in this wretched recession.

What exactly is a PowerSeller? eBay PowerSellers are individuals who have a huge business going on, and there is a badge displayed next to their name. You may have seen these PowerSellers show up on eBay's pages - to be successful on eBay, you will have to work the way they work.

"How Do I Become A PowerSeller?"

Who can or can't be a PowerSeller is actually up to eBay, as they enforce firm requirements. To become a PowerSeller, one must possess a feedback minimum of 100 and vend at least $1,000.00 in products each month for three months total. The levels of PowerSeller affiliation vary as you sell products of better value: $1,000.00 total is bronze status, $3,000 is silver status, $10,000 is gold status, $25,000 is platinum status, and $125,000 is titanium status.

If a PowerSeller falls short of these requirements or their feedback level drops beneath 98% positive, then they will lose their PowerSeller status as a consequence. In other words, the only way to become a PowerSeller on eBay is by being consistent with sales and service for a long time.

There Are Lots Of PowerSeller 'Secrets' - NOT!

There is a lot of mystery and mystique about PowerSeller 'secrets'. And, of course, there are quality ways to doing everything, but here is the real secret, and this is the most essential aspect of understanding how PowerSellers reason: they take their business very seriously and not as just a simple hobby.

PowerSellers tend to reason like a store. They vend the same items each week as regular inventory for normal customers. They conduct the "dull" business transactions such as measuring the budget and keeping inventory in check. They know exactly what they will be selling, how much they pay for it and what to expect in the selling costs. Just as it is with a real store, there can be difficult periods to go through, but the income is stable enough to develop over time.

Powersellers don't act rashly. They study what's selling, what customers want and how they can fit their products in the stream of strong demand. As a famous marketer advises: "Figure out what's selling and throw yourself in front of it".

Way too many online sellers allow their emotions to become involved in their sales. Really bad idea. If one of your product sells - or not - it has nothing to do with you. Customers are acting for reasons of their own that have nothing to do with you. A buying decision is a complex one, made up of many factors. And the PowerSeller is able to stand back and look objectively at what is occurring in the marketplace and governs her actions accordingly. Feelings have nothing to do with successful selling.

My advice to you on reasoning like a PowerSeller is this: do not take any long-term risks for short-term gain. Keep track of your reputation, administer your selling appropriately, give decent customer service, and you shall reap what you have sewn. Also, you will receive that little badge next to your username to show shoppers just how trustworthy you really are! And if you really want to become a PowerSeller, a member of the elite eBay PowerSellers community, that's really all you need to know.
