The grass growing in your garden does its biological works as any living organism but acting in by itself, it can not accomplish to reach the best health and appearance. If you take a closer look, it needs a proper maintenance like car,to keep it in optimum state. Knowing the basic maintenance steps will ease your work in lawn care and lead you to the best results.

Merely cutting the grass can not be named lawn care, there are a lot more of thing that your lawn needs and some people neglect. Others prefer top the ground with concrete or hide the lawn under fences, but the true is that nothing compares to a beautiful, unmatched green grass spreading all over your lawn. To keep your grass growing healthy, you have to take some measure, like to reseed in the fall. Reseeding in the fall ensure that the grass will start growing before the winter hibernation, allowing to have a fuller lawn in the next spring. Other basic maintenance care step is aeration. When the soil turns very compact, is time for aeration. Aeration is the process by which holes are made in the soil to remove it and improve its capacity of draining water, hence the roots will receive all the moisture they need to complete their full growth. A heavy tread soil turns compact quickly and the grass will die due to be unable to get the water its needs.

Aeration is a major issue of lawn care routine, especially for established lawns. When you aerate your lawn, the extracted plugs can be mowed over and spread out of the rest of your lawn. The function of the holes is to allow water to penetrate quicker and be absorb more efficiently by the roots, improving greatly your lawn grass aspect.

Water Deep But Not As Often

Daily watering routine is considered by many homeowner like an advantageous work, they think that can help their grass letting have all they water it seems to claim every day. A great mistake. An average lawn will only need just an inch of water once a week. Too much water can damage your lawn as too little would do, of course, in a different way but enough harmful to be avoided. Loosing ground due to the excess of water will allow grass to drown and be easily pull out, no a great advantage. If the soil lack moisture, it will become dry and will kill the roots, too. Do it the watering in balance will help you to develop the grass you want.Use a rain gauge when watering to know when the inch of water has been reached: put the gauge on the lawn and begin to water, eventually control the gauge. When you hit the right mark, turn out the sprinkler and wait till the next week.

the sprinkler for another week. This will also help conserve water.

Other rule of lawn maintenance is to avoid cut more than one third of an inch every time you mow. If cut more, the grass will hurt, leaving long blades clipping the lawn, and causing the underneath areas be deprived of sunlight.

You can work easily following the lawn maintenance rules to keep your lawn in optimum conditions, and other rule is to use mulch as part of landscaping, and beautify your lawn in this way. Landscape mulch varies in types but the most important part played in the lawn care maintenance is to keep the weed under control, adding that mulch maintains roots cool in summer and warm in winter months.
