Andrea V. Smith

I have to admit it, I am a cleanliness freak. My kids always joke I catch the dust before it hits the floor. Thing is, I became a mom at the age of forty-two. Until then, I had been pretty much accustomed to living alone. My singles’ apartment was spotless. In the blink of an eye, I was happily married, and mother of two: yes, twins. It was a spontaneous twin pregnancy; before you ask, God bless my babies. The change in my lifestyle was phenomenal. Don't get me wrong; I don't regret for a single second the way events turned out, on the contrary, I'm happier than I ever imagine I would be. But you know how it's hard for an old dog to get rid of its habits; it was hard for me to get fully used to everyday mess. Especially with the twins. They are seven now. Imagine when each one of them got a puppy for their birthday.

The puppies were a hard bone to chew -never has this expression been more accurate. The golden rule was: dogs stay out in the yard, or off they go. You see, luckily we have a big yard, and we had two kennels built, so the puppies would be sheltered. This way I managed to keep the furniture intact -kind of. But the puppies’ stuff was a problem. Their leashes, the biscuits, and those huge bags of food - they were a nightmare. I never knew where to put them. If I kept them outside, they got wet. If I kept them inside, they didn't look quite elegant in the kitchen. In the garage, they attracted mice, and outside, first of all, the puppies would go frantic with the smell; they would bark all day. Secondly, since the food would get wet, it became a great loss. So, all the money we saved by buying big bags of dog food, went down the toilet, literally.

Browsing PetGadgets, the solution materialized right before my eyes. By the way, I love this website. You can find all sorts of items for your pet, and the articles are really enlightening. As I was saying, the solution: the Pet Storage Tower. A classy piece of furniture that did not look out of place in my kitchen. It has two big bins that will open with a pedal, you don't even have to use your hands. Now we find the leashes every time, they go on a hanger at the side. The bins close so tightly that the smell stays inside, and the food keeps dry forever. It also saves a lot of room, and is very easy to clean since the material it’s built of is completely washable. I love it. It really changed my life. Now I enjoy the puppies, instead of suffering them.
