Many people want to know, "how do I start email marketing?" The most effective way to start email marketing is in list building. There are many ways to compile a list, but the quickest, and most efficient way to build a list is to go where your clients are, and offer something of value to them, such as a free report about the product that they are looking for.

Individuals who don't know a lot about email marketing ask questions about it's viability in the changing climate of the Internet. Why still do something as archaic as email as a marketing medium? After all, we have blogs, Twitter, AIM, and plenty of other ways that individuals communicate on line, ways which make email seem antiquated by comparison.

In case that's you, and you're asking “How do I start email marketing, especially in this economic climate”, be assured that email hasn't died, and in fact, it's better than ever in terms of finding, targeting and communicating your message.

If you just buy a list, and send out a letter asking to buy, not only will you probably not get the sale, but you could very well be reported as a spammer.
