Auckland is a part of Auckland region including the other three cities such as Waitakere City, Manukau City, and the North Shore City. The three districts such as Papakura, Franklin, and Rodney are also parts of Auckland Region. In fact, the Auckland Region is on four touring routes such as the Thermal Explorer, the Twin Coast Discovery, the Great New Zealand Touring Route, and the Pacific Coast Highway.

Auckland offers you a lot of recreational activities that will not only grab your interest, but are very light on your pockets. Try the common outdoor activities like golf, the cricket, the rugby, and the bush treks. There are also outdoor tricks like rappelling or abseiling, wherein you can descent down some of Auckland’s naturally beautiful and steep mountains.

This city is unsurpassed in the quality and quantity of its seashores and beaches. They have 28 amazing beaches great to sail, surf, swim, fish, and play. What’s more, the beaches (together with its parks) are free.

In summers, you can have the thrill and pleasure at Mission Bay or slacken and meander all through native bush on Rangitoto. If these aren’t adventure enough, you can go bungee jumping, skydiving, kayaking, kite boarding, caving, rollerblading and more. The list is endless and the choice is all up to you.

Auckland’s Attractions
There are also many breathtaking sights and educational trips at the same time. The Auckland Zoo is one of the world’s most progressive zoos and New Zealand’s biggest. See animals from African wild like zebras, giraffes, and lions. You can also come across animals from the South American rainforest like the monkeys and the tarantulas. Other interesting creatures such as penguins, sea lions, flamingos, and hippos are also seen here.

The park of Piha Conjon in the city of Waitakere offers you caverns, tropical pools, and whispering waterfalls.

Also visit the Crystal Mountain. It won the tourism award in 2005 and 2006. It is 30 acres big where tourists can roam freely for sightseeing and adventure. The mountain is abundant in crystals, minerals and fossils. You can buy jewelry accessories made of crystals at the retail shop for souvenir.

Have you ever seen a real penguin? You will get that chance in Kelly Tarlton’s Antarctic Encounter & Underwater World. Many penguins are enclosed in a very spacious room that mimics their real habitat in the Antarctic. You will also get a chance to see sharks underwater through a tunnel, and get to interact with stingrays.
