How to Make Money With Affiliate Marketing as an Alternate to MLM ®

Affiliate marketing differs from multi-level marketing and direct sales on several fundamental levels.

Instead of focusing in selling the product, affiliates simply provide access to it.
Instead of twisting arms with hard sale tactics, affiliates simply present the product and let it sell itself.
Instead of being part of a pyramid network, affiliates connect each supplier directly with the vendor.

This makes affiliates much more attractive than other network marketing businesses! The emphasis is shifted away from closing the deal, and instead moves into more of an informational role; providing the necessary data to people who already want it so they can make an informed decision. Since your customers come to you, you don’t have to constantly accost everyone you meet to try and convince them to sign on the dotted line!

An affiliate can sell almost any type of product or service. All you have to do is get a website set up that you can use to promote products, and learn how to optimize it so that people using the internet to look for those things will find you.

You can do these things by optimizing the pages of your website itself for frequently searched phrases related to your affiliate product, and by distributing information across the web that will lead back to your site. When done properly, targeted visitors will pour into your site looking for these products or services, making the need for cold calling or hard selling unnecessary.

All you have to do at that point is some soft pre-selling to send your customers on their way to the affiliate site, credit card in hand. They already have their minds half made up when they land on your homepage - a gentle nudge is all that is needed. Instead of trying to make disinterested, reluctant clients buy something you have to convince them they need, affiliate marketing attracts customers who already know what they want and your only job is to convince them that you have it.

Building an affiliate website is easy - you can use any one of the many free platforms out there, and simply build multiple websites, one for each product you want to market! With the right content to attract visitors and a smooth soft sell approach, you can begin making sales immediately.

If you do affiliate marketing right, you won’t have to concentrate on high dollar items to make money - you can sell one small product many times. It’s all about learning how to give people what they want, instead of trying to tell them what they want!

Where do you find these affiliate products? Clickbank is a perfect starting point - there you can find products that fill needs and that you have knowledge about and can write intelligently about. From there you can branch out, and even recruit affiliates if there is a product you like that you want to promote - just contact the manufacturer and ask if you can become a reseller for them. A network of affiliate sites can make you money continuously with minimal effort.
