Successful Internet marketers today know the power of viral marketing. Viral marketing is like a virus in that it spreads all over the Internet (but in a good way). As a virus spreads its nasty venom all over from one Internet user to another, so does a person's business when using viral marketing.

To use viral marketing effectively, you must give your audience something they can't help but pass around. When you do this, you will be amazed at the loads of passive traffic you will receive to your website simply by offering something people can't resist.

Below you will find some different viral marketing ideas that will spread your business, product or website around the Internet like wildfire.

Ebooks

The viral ebook, especially free ones, is one of the easiest ways to gain website traffic. If you create an ebook that is filled with informative and valuable information, people will pass it along. The PDF is the most common type of ebook format and easy to create. You can give them away for free but strategically place links to your product or service in the ebook which will get you future sales. People are more inclined to pass around a free ebook that contains valuable information that they can use. Plus, if they find your ebook helpful, they just might click on the links inside it and buy what you have to offer because you have now gained their trust.

Video Marketing

This is becoming one of the more popular forms of viral marketing today. Sites such as YouTube, mainstreaming or online streaming videos allow people to put together a video and display it for the world to see. If your video is considered valuable to watch, people are going to get the word out on it. When you make your video, be sure to include your website URL in the beginning and end of your video. You will be amazed at the amount of traffic you will receive once your video gets passed around.

Viral Email Marketing

This is a great way to promote your products and services. You begin the viral marketing effect by creating an email campaign that is helpful and informative to your readers. If they benefit from your emails, they will either forward the emails to their friends and family or direct them to your website. To achieve positive results with this form of viral marketing, you need to keep your reader in mind and not your sales. It is important that your emails give something to your readers whether it is something free or simply useful information that helps them.

Viral marketing is a very powerful form of advertising if done correctly. To get the most out of it, you have to think outside the box. Try to be as creative and original as you can. You want people to notice you and what you have to offer them. Do not be afraid to hand out something for free. People love things that are free and it builds trust. Once you gain trust, you will begin to see more traffic and more sales. It's a win-win situation for both your audience and you.
