Do you like to try your abilities in feature article writing but lack confidence in doing it? Don't be. Everyone who is interested in feature writing needs a handful of tips for writing a feature article that most writers abide.

Go on and read the following tips for writing a feature article.

• Plan well- Every activity needs to be planned very well, and writing is not an exception. In this stage, you consider the subject of your feature, what information are needed and what are your strategies in completing the write-up

• Opt for a rare yet interesting subject- This is among the tips for writing a feature article that should never be forgotten. A rare (maybe something that is read seldom in any kinds of reading media) and interesting (something that catches a human's interest) matter is a hit among readers. Readers would want to veer away from the usual too; they need fresh articles to keep them informed and entertained.

• Do research and organize gathered information- Research is essential in every writing activity. The data that you will provide to your readers will appear from the outcome of your investigation. Sort out what you intend to include in your write-up from information that are out of the topic.

• Make an interview if necessary- An interview is an innovative piece of information. What makes it more reliable is that it came from the mouth of an expert in the field of interest of the paper work. It is more substantial compared to data that is obtained from research.

• Keep those things that motivate you to write on your table top- An insipid writer cannot compose a good article no matter how interesting his or her subject matter is. A bar of your favorite energy bar or your iPod playing your favorite tunes is a good motivator. Writing is an activity that needs rituals too.

• Write your draft- Just write, write and write when the ideas flow. Do not prevent your thoughts from coming out by revising the sentences you have already constructed without finishing the whole article first. This might just break your brain's momentum.

• Write a catchy lead

• Relate events or procedures in chronological order- To keep ideas and thoughts intact especially when you are relating events, be sure to tell them on how they happened: in order. You might leave your readers hanging and confused if your story is unorganized.

• Make use of computer office application's grammar and spelling feature- Although they are not a hundred percent accurate, you can use this to minimize the errors even before the proofreading process. Just don't rely to it that much especially if you know that the correction the program is suggesting will just make the sentence grammatically incorrect.

• Be in condition for revision and proofreading- If you are tired and sleepy, you might miss some
mistakes that you have committed. Lack of vigor can lead to more disastrous outcomes as your mind is also lacks the energy to scrutinize.

• Ask for a second opinion to improve your articles- And last but not the least, make use of your friends by letting them read your articles. You don't need your whole group to read it though, one or two friends who are also into writing like you is enough. They may suggest facts that you missed or tell you if your lead needs more hype so it can be catchy.

Follow these tips for writing a feature article and your name will be featured as one of the few good writers alive.
