You will find Organ Cave in West Virginia which is the longest cave of in the USA with 40 miles of passageways. Also in this state is Extreme Expeditions, famous for water rafting on two of the best whitewater rivers, River Gauley and River New. People who love the outdoors should come to Audra State Park with River Middle Fork surrounded by marvelous forest. This park has an excellent view, but best view is from broad walk on cave's ledge. Mother Nature has carved a pool from river where you can swim and a 1900's constructed gristmill still exists here.

Cedar Creek State Park offers recreational activities along with many games. Trails provide an insight into abundance of wildlife that is present in its forest. A weekly event schedule is available at campsites. Scenic beauty of Blackwater Falls State Park lies in deep snow falls in winter, multi-colors of falls and wildflowers in spring. Out door people just love coming here. West Virginia's heaviest snow occurs here making it a paradise for people who love sports on snow. Visitors might have fun at toboggan run which has a tow rope and a warming hut.

Tygart Lake State Park offers water related activities along with land sports to its visitors. Recreational activities are found in abundance. It is located near North Bend Rail Trail, stretching 72 miles and passing through scenic vistas. When going to Coopers Rock State Park wear clothes according to prevailing season at the park. During hunting season (October to February), try wearing vivid orange clothes with hiker shoes. Many trails are found here making hiking very popular here.

Located on Route 50, Cathedral State Park is sprawled in 133 acres. The Park is located on a gentle slope with many species of plants and flowers. Many trails lead you to all corners of this park and shelters are there because of unpredictable weather. Watoga State Park has two campgrounds, Beaver Creek Campground on its eastern side and Riverside Campground on its western entrance. Both offer many amenities.

Riverside Campground opens from 1 April to deer rifle season in early December and Beaver Creek Campground opens from Thursday prior to Memorial Day to 1 November. All modern facilities are available at Stonewell Jackson Lake State Park which opens from April Fools Day to mid-December. Kanawha State forest opens from mid-April to early November (weather permitting) and provides all modern amenities. Check out time here is 12 noon.

Sprawled in 2000 acres, Bluestone State Park is right next to a lake and is an access to water related activities. Boats and Canoes may be rented from marina. Moncove Lake State Park allows hunting on its area of 500 acres, but all bows, breadheads and guns should be in excellent shape. Deer, Ducks and wild Turkey can be hunted.

You require hunting and fishing licenses at Greenbrier State forest for indulging in these activities. Normal facilities are available at Cabway Lingo State Forest and you require a license for both fishing and hunting. Seasonal hunting and fishing is available at Seneca State Forest and nearby River Greenbrier. Rubber tubes and Canoes are available on rent.
