Living the Good Life in Preston, Cary NC

Preston in Cary, North Carolina is PUD featuring a multitude of amenities, many of which are within walking distance or are located only a short drive away. Preston offers larger homes and lots than most other communities in the Cary area. This provides residents with more privacy while still being able to enjoy the warmth and joy of living within a close-knit neighborhood. Considered to be a high-end community where the quality of life is beyond compare, the neighborhoods within Preston offer a variety of home styles at varying price levels that generally fall within $500,000 to $800,000 range. Some of the styles of homes found within Preston include condos, townhomes, single family homes and estates.

Regardless of where the home is located in Preston, all of its residents enjoy easy access to the private Prestonwood Country Club. This magnificent country club, which offers 54 holes of championship golf, winds its way through the majority of the neighborhood. Those with a membership to the Prestonwood Country Club can enjoy playing tennis on its six composition clay courts or its nine all-weather courts. Members may also choose to take tennis lessons, participate in tennis clinics, or shop at the fully stocked Pro Shop. The country club also offers an eight-lane competition pool, a recreation pool and a tot pool with easy access to a full-service snack bar as well as cabanas. A fitness facility that includes state-of-the-art equipment and certified staff is also available to members, as is a spacious clubhouse featuring Georgian style architecture. Families also enjoy participating in the Prestonwood Kids Club, which is host to a variety of events throughout the year for children between the ages of five and ten.

With most of the homes having been built by John Weiland, who has been building homes for more than 39 years, the homes within Preston boast spacious interiors and fine detailing. Residents also enjoy living in a prime location near to a number of banks, retail establishments and grocery stores. The 310-acre Fred G. Bond Metro Park can also be found within short distance of the neighborhood. Here, residents can enjoy boating on Bond Lake, picnicking in the Kiwanis Picnic Shelter, participating in the Challenge Ropes Course, playing ball on the many athletic fields, walking on the numerous trails and watching a performance at the amphitheater.

Education is also a top priority within the community, with the majority of the children attending Green Hope Elementary, which follows a multi-track year-round schedule with four 9 week grading periods, each of which is followed by a four week break. Residents then attend Davis Middle School and move on to Green Hope High School, both of which follow a traditional schedule. Green Hope High School is a high-performing school, having earned the "Honor of Excellence" recognition from the state of North Carolina for the past 5 school years.

It is no wonder people consider Preston the peak of good living. With great school surrounding the community and local amenities within walking Preston has a lot to offer it's residence.
