There is Work to Do

You can hire a credit repair service to clean up your credit report, or you can do it yourself. Either way, it is important to know that it takes more than just sending dispute letters to the credit bureaus to succeed at credit repair. If you want to transform your credit, improve your credit scores, and become attractive to lenders you have some work to do.

Are You Ready?

It is not hard. It is just a matter of putting one foot in front of the other. Do the job right; become an intelligent participant in the creation of your new credit you will succeed beyond your wildest dreams. Before you know it your credit report will be a masterpiece, and your long suffering scores will top the 750 mark. You can do it. Are you ready?

Take a Fresh Look

Start your credit repair project with a new idea. Don’t imagine for a minute that the information you see on your reports is accurate just because it is there. Give yourself the benefit of the doubt. Credit reporting errors are very common. Your credit is too important to leave to chance. If you see anything on your reports that you do not recognize you should dispute it.

Building New Credit

In addition to disputing the questionable derogatory information on your reports you need to have positive accounts if you want your credit repair effort to succeed. If you don’t have any open accounts now is the time to open a couple of small secured credit cards. For credit repair purposes we find that two cards is the perfect number. It’s easy and you won’t get denied. Secured cards require a small security deposit and will typically have a limit equal to the amount of your deposit.

Manage Your Debt

Once you have your new cards it is important to manage them properly. The FICO credit scoring model puts so much emphasis on the relationship between your revolving balances and your limits that you need to be very careful. How important is this? If you charge up your new cards to the limit your scores could fall over 100 points. But don’t worry! This sensitivity can work in your favor too. If you limit your card usage to 20 percent of the available limit these new cards can add over 100 points to your score within 6 months.

Credit Repair Help

Do you need help? You don’t need to spend a fortune to get good advice. Most good credit repair companies are very inexpensive and will take care of the important dispute process for you. In addition, they will identify deficiencies in your credit and all available score optimization opportunities. They should also counsel you on the right way to manage your debt to get your scores up and to keep them there. If you don’t feel up to doing the job on your own pick up the phone. Credit repair is too important to put off. Now is the time.
