Pregnancy related stretch marks the worst to get rid of. It is a horrible sight since you can see big lines crawling through the body. It is true that not many women get these stretch marks, but women get these normally when they are about 6 or 7 months pregnant.

Stretch marks are most commonly seen across the belly. The unlucky ones get these even around the hips, breasts, thighs and buttocks. The disadvantage of this is that you cannot wear your sleek bikini suits on the beach, as the stretch marks are a depressing sight. But do not lose hope. You can surely get rid of these miserable stretch marks.

Stretch marks are basically caused due to the corticosteroid hormones in the body. These hormones cause a decline in the collagen. Collagen lends elasticity and suppleness to the skin, so when there is a deterioration in the collagen level, it results in stretch marks. Some natural ways of getting rid of stretch marks are mentioned below:

Use of Pure Coconut oil

Lavishly massage pure coconut oil on the wet skin immediately after you have had your shower or bath. Using coconut oil twice a day after bath gives elasticity and suppleness to the skin. It keeps the skin glowing and also lends a radiant and healthy look to the otherwise dry look.

Most of the creams and shampoos use coconut oil as the base. Coconut oil is a natural ingredient and helps in maintaining a healthy and fresh look the body and skin. It is also mild and hence smooth on the skin and body.

If you go to a health store, they would charge you a good amount of money. Hence, it is advised that you buy coconut oil from any simple Indian store or any Caribbean grocery store since Caribbean cooking and Indian cooking make use of coconut oil. If you buy coconut oil from these stores, you would get it really cheap.

Check your Diet

Keep a track of what you are eating. Your diet needs to have plenty of wholesome foods and whole pulses and grains. They have fiber in them which keeps the skin glowing, healthy and lends a radiant look. Some essential vitamins like Vitamin C, Vitamin E, silica and zinc are present in the pulses and grains which lend a glow to the skin. Just make sure you do not include Vitamin E supplements while you are pregnant because they are not advised during pregnancy.

Keep your body hydrated

It is important to keep your body hydrated. This can be done by drinking atleast 10-12 glasses of water daily. Water cleanses the system and it helps you get rid of toxins from the body. When your body is rid of poisonous substances, it remains healthy. The skin is able to breathe well and this is one very effective way of getting rid of stretch marks. Even if your body is dehydrated by about 2%, your skin is the first one to get affected. Hence, make sure you keep your bottle filled of water so that you can keep sipping water frequently.

Do not overeat

Make sure you eat the right kind of food and do not end up gorging on fast food and aerated drinks. People who suffer from obesity also get these stretch marks. Make sure you include lots of natural foods in your daily diet. Make sure to include lots of fresh fruits and vegetables in your daily diet and you can get rid of these ugly stretch marks.
