Getting access to a decent, user friendly image editing tool that also comes loaded with features is now easier than ever and best of all, free. You don’t need to be a graphic designer to make your photos look professional. Nor do you need hundreds of dollars to purchase the latest, state of the art software package.

Here are four fabulous online photo editing tools.

PhotoScape

It's intuitive, fast and has all the usual features you'd expect from a top-notch image editing tool including image resize, color and brightness adjustment, white balance, backlight correction, mosaic mode, adding text, drawing pictures, cropping, filters, red eye removal, blooming and lots more.

One of the easiest and most user friendly tools out there. PhotoScape comes with stacks of features, lots of fun little extras and it's a doddle to use. A great all-in-one package.

PicNik

A web based tool allowing easy online photo manipulation. If you have a Flickr, Facebook, MySpace or Photobucket account, you can easily import your images and get editing straight away. Great if you already have your photos uploaded to the web.

The developers at PicNik will shortly be releasing PicNik Show - a nifty little tool that grabs pictures from your computer or online and mixes them together in a slideshow format so you can share with your friends.

Although not a full on image editing tool like PhotoScape, PicNik has some really nice features, particularly if you're a keen Social Network addict.

Photoshop Express

Use the industry standard image editing tool and get a feel for what the pro's use! Ok, not quite, but it’s still pretty impressive.

Photoshop Express is obviously heavily reduced in functionality but still a decent image editor.

Photoshop Express supports instant import from Facebook, Picasa and Photobucket. There are some fantastic features - the Touchup Tool makes it really easy to remove a blemish or mark on someone’s face and you also get stacks of storage space for your photos.

Photoshop Express is a very good option for people who need a single tool combining free online photo storage with user-friendly photo editing functionality.

Picasa
http://picasa.google.com/

Picasa was snapped up by Google a few years ago and added to the ever growing list of Google tools on offer.

Picasa is excellent for beginners and casual photographers. You can organize and manage your photos in one place, edit your photos, eliminate scratches & blemishes, fix red-eye, crop and more plus you can turn photos into movies, collages and slideshows.

You can also easily create web albums to share with friends and family.

Whilst not as feature-rich as Photoshop Express and not a full on image editing tool, Picasa is great if you're just working with photos. Like all the image editing tools we have listed, Picasa is intuitive and easy-to-use.

Each tool listed will enable you to create better looking photos. The one you choose will depend on what your needs are. If you want to quickly edit and share photos, maybe fix some red-eye or remove a blemish then Picasa or PicNik would be a good choice.

If you need all the above and a bit more, your best bet would be to opt for PhotoScape or Photoshop Express.
