Upholstery cleaning at home is much easier and less expensive. Know the basic and simple way on how to do it on your own.

Every home has its own set of upholstery, appliances and furniture. It is one of their best investments and necessities to complete their household appliances. Some of them have their upholstered loveseat, sofa, comforter, chairs and bed, quite unique and expensive to maintain. It requires high maintenance to last a long time.

We want to come home always to a clean and dust free home. A clean home is most relaxing and comfortable to stay in especially with children and their pets who love to go around and play in your living room. You do not need to worry about their health even as they sit and jump in your furniture or flooring.

However it is normal that we accidentally stain our upholsteries because of our normal day to day activities. We would sometimes leave food bits or even spill drops from our drinks on the sofa or table. It causes dirt to accumulate.

We usually resort to commercial cleaning shops to service our furniture. But you will be surprised to learn that it is very easy to do it yourself. It requires only some basic techniques and tools needed in removing stains. It will give your upholstery a new look in no time at all. You will also save a lot of money.

It is important to learn the common dirt and stains, and how to remove it. Molds are the most common yet very easy to remedy. Just mix hydrogen peroxide with teaspoon of bleach, use clean cloth and slightly wipe into stain afterwards wash it with warm water and leave it dry.

Greases are oil stains we obtain from holding fried foods or junk foods. Spray salt, talcum powder and cornstarch to the spot, gently rub soft cloth into it until grease immersed, after that brush the powder and grease off to the upholstery and wipe it with wet cloth and let it dry.

Coffee stains are also common since we most of us love to drink coffee. We often serve it to our guests also. Just mix detergent, vinegar and viola into cup of water, do no scrub it too hard, after that rinse it with damp cloth and wipe it with dry cloth.

There is a trick also to removing oily cheese stains. Add one teaspoon of gentle ph-balance detergent into a cup of warm water and gently wipe at the stain. After that mix another tablespoon of ammonia into half cup of water and wipe it again gently into stain. Lastly, rinse the stain with clean water and let it dry for an hour.

For butter stains, apply a generous amount of cleaning solvent into damp cloth and wipe it gently into blotted space, mix one tablespoon of detergent and cup of water. Use dry towel or sponge to absorb detergent and water and let the spot dry.

Detergent powder also helps in removing stain and dirt, professionals and some trained technician can give you advice and right method of using detergent to your furniture with upholstery and other simple ways on how to remove dirt and clean your home.

Dust easily clings to furniture and some surfaces depending on the environment that we have. We always have to clean and remove dirt, dust, stains and other unpleasant spot in our upholstery by having regular cleaning habit. Clean surroundings will keep us away from any harm and illness it may bring.

Vacuum and brush away dust from furnishings. Do it regularly to avoid buildup. If vacuum cleaner is not available, use a clean soft cloth or soft paper towels to pick up dust. Clean furniture with dry cloth before vacuuming. Get wet cloth to rinse the furniture and keep it fully dried up.

Coasters, mats pads, vases, glasses, cups and other big furniture needs also protection from spills, dirt and stains, and from heated objects. Do not use a harmful material that gives bad effect and can damage furniture. Clean them with few drops of denatured or rubbing alcohol and finish with varnish or shellacs.

There are lots of products available in the market offers services in removing stains, and other problems in our upholstery but sometimes it damages the upholstery with a its high content of chemicals. Be careful on what we are buying for cleaning and washing of our upholstery read carefully the label and its uses.
