For example one could have sensors in every room which in turn could be zoned, this will pick up any movement by an intruder which would make your house very safe but maybe very sensitive which could lead to a lot of false alarms. The point is, make sure you discuss your alarm system and your requirements in detail before you make your decision in terms of what type of alarm to use.
