Udaipur is known as the City of Lakes because of its many beautiful lakes. This city is also famous for its palaces turned luxurious hotels.

Udaipur is a municipal council and city in the Rjasthan state of India. It is considered as the former Mewar Kingdom's historic capital in the Rajputana Agency. It is also the Udaipur District's administrative headquarters.

It is also known as the City of Lakes because it has the most beautiful lakes in Rjasthan. This would include the Fateh Sagar Lake, Pichola Lake, Swaroop Sagar and the Udai Sagar. Aside from the lakes, Udaipur is famous for the Rajput-er Palaces it houses like the Lake Palace that covers a whole island along the Pichola Lake. However, most of the palaces are now luxury hotels.

Udaipur Accommodations
The hotels in Udaipur offer the best facilities and amenities for their guests. However, take note that not all the amenities and facilities of the hotel are included in the rate. It is still best to check with the hotel regarding their packages and rates before making that reservation.

Here are some of the hotels in Udaipur:

Garden Hotel
This 3-star hotel is located at Gulab Bagh Udaipur Rajasthan, India. This is close to the Arabian Sea’s Juhu Beach in Mumbai. It is also near the Victoria Terminus (World Heritage Site), Gateway and the Chowpatty Beach as well as the National Gallery of Modern Art. Amenities of the hotel include an onsite restaurant, conference facilities, a bar pub, babysitting services and bicycle rentals, handicap facilities along with an elevator, laundry/dry cleaning services, 24 hour room service and valet parking.

They also have a salon, safety deposit boxes, shops and an outdoor pool. Each room of the hotel is equipped with bathrobes, air conditioners, hair dryers, tea/coffee makers, mini bar and in-room safe; plus, Satellite TVs and you can even opt for a non-smoking room.

Jagat Niwas Palace Hotel
This 17th century palace turned hotel is located at 24 - 25 Lalghat, near the Lake Pichola's banks. Its rooms were restored so as to resemble the bygone era. Views of the lake and other palaces within the city are wonderful to see from here.

This is considered as a 3-star hotel. Amenities would include a travel desk for excursion plans, a puppet show, folk dances, laundry/dry cleaning services, concierge services and meeting facilities as well as 24 hour room service, a restaurant, shops and massage facilities. Every room is equipped with daily newspapers, air conditioners, mini bars, Internet access and a TV.

Shiv Niwas Palace Hotel
This is a 5-star hotel located at City Palace Udaipur 313001 India. This palace was previously the Maharana Fateh Singhji's residence. Its rooms are located strategically around a courtyard that was originally used in order to provide entertainment the personal guests of the Maharan Fateh Singhji.

This hotel was even awarded with the National Tourism Award's best heritage hotel (Heritage Grand category) and the Heritage Award for Excellence. Thus, suites of this hotel are furnished and provided with a private terrace. Amenities include hotel-airport transfers, a bar pub, dry cleaning/laundry services, a restaurant and meeting facilities as well as safety deposit boxes, a salon, out door pool, squash court and massage facilities.

Each room is guaranteed not only with a balcony or terrace, there are also air conditioners, bathrobes, bathtubs, daily newspaper, tea/coffee makers, desks and in-room safes as well as air dryers, Internet access, mini bars, iron boards and satellite/cable TVs. Bathrooms have a separate shower and tub. Guests are also privileged access to activities like non-motorized water sports.
