Picture frames are a great way to spruce up an otherwise boring space. While most people would choose something like a belt buckle or horseshoe picture frame for a western-themed room, keep in mind that you have multiple options to consider. However, in this article, we wanted to focus on two specific types of old west picture frames, showing you some of the different styles currently on the market.

A great buckle picture frame is made from a real belt buckle. While many companies take silver buckles and create frames from them, other companies will use a person’s own buckle. For instance, to design a custom cowboy picture frame, perhaps a winning rodeo belt buckle could be put to better use than sitting in a drawer. Regardless, the center of the buckle is made to hold a favorite photo securely and on the back, an easel is added so the photo can be displayed.

Then, there is the horseshoe picture frame, which again could be made from a smaller, faux horseshoe or a real one. Just as with the belt buckle, the horseshoe picture frame would be ideal for a cowboy wanting to put some of his favorite photos out where everyone could enjoy them. While these two designs are typically sold more for men than women you will find some frames with a belt buckle or horseshoe that have been designed to be feminine.

Along with finding an old west picture frame made from a real belt buckle or horseshoe, some are made using resin and metal to create an authentic look but without the expense and weight. For instance, one that would look beautiful in a girl’s room is the picture frame in the shape of a belt buckle but in this case, the frame is made of resin and the frame embellished with clear or colored rhinestones.

In addition to the single belt buckle frame, another option that is definitely unique and classy is a frame that looks as if it were made from two belts with belt buckles on either side. Made from pure resin, the detailing is so perfect that it looks like genuine tooled leather with stitching. Typically, the metal portion of the faux belt buckle would be made from a lightweight metal with heavier metal tips, giving the old west picture frame a little bit of shine.

Of course, in addition to choosing a belt buckle or horseshoe picture frame, you will find a number of designs that combine both elements. As an example, a frame made from genuine barn wood, one that has been accented with a belt buckle on the bottom and a horseshoe on the top is ideal. Regardless of the design you end up with for your old west picture frame, remember that these frames come in a wide variety of materials, sizes, and design options that would work for anyone. While you could spend a lot of money, most of these frames are very affordable, often $20 or less, giving you a frame made from high quality material.
