Anxiety disorder can ruin your personal and professional life if left untreated. Most common symptoms of an anxiety attack are as follows:
1. Hyperventilation
2. Heart palpitations or pain
3. Chocking sensation
4. Breathing trouble
5. Surge of overwhelming panic
6. Feeling of going crazy or losing control
7. Feeling as if you are going to pass out
8. Shaking or trembling
9. Stomach cramps or nausea
10. Chills or hot flashes
11. Feeling unreal or detached

A medical help is strongly recommended if any of the above mentioned symptoms appear in you at any time. The medical professional that you choose should be experienced enough to handle the case swiftly. For this purpose, you can search some good medical websites. Once you narrow down on to a doctor you can fix an appointment with him. If you find a complete list of doctors around your area, then you can download the same and make your work easier.

Some of the family members or friends might also help you by telling you the contact information of a good medical professional, if they know one. You should take all the medical reports along with you when you are leaving to meet the doctor. If you happen to undergo an operation or a surgery, then you should also carry the details as well as the discharge certificate. The medical professional would ask you a serious of questions about your medical history and health status.

Benzodiazepines and antidepressants are the most widely used anxiety attacks medications. Before prescribing any of these medications, the medical professional will conduct a thorough diagnosis of the anxiety attack. For some days the medication would contain mild doses. This to check the improvement status. This is some sort of a trial method that is adopted by the medical professionals. It should be noted that you should avoid the consumption of alcohol and caffeine when the treatment is started for anxiety attacks.

Medication is generally combined with therapies such as behavioral therapy. A study was done on two different groups of anxiety attacks patients. One group was kept on medication only and other group was given a combination of anxiety attack medication and behavioral therapy. The latter showed positive results in a shorter span of time than the former.

A majority of anxiety attack medication are addicting in nature and have some terrible side effects. The doctors or medical professionals that you are under the treatment would surely let you know about the advantages and disadvantages of the prescribed medication. Hence, it is your responsibility to decide upon the risk that you might have to take.

If you feel like not going for the panic attack medications, then you can try the combination of behavioral therapy and other complementary methods such as exercise, relaxation techniques, biofeedback, and hypnosis.

Exercising is a natural way of relieving stress and very effective in controlling the anxiety disorder. Try an accommodate a 30 minute workout schedule every morning for five days a week and you will definitely see the difference within a month. A relaxation technique calms the mind and does not allow negativity to creep in there by reducing stress and promoting good health. Common relaxation techniques that are used to treat anxiety disorder are controlled breathing, mindfulness meditation, progressive muscle relaxation, and visualization.

You should understand the anxiety disorder well in advance before the commencement of the treatment. There are six types of anxiety disorders that have been identified yet. They are generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, phobia, social anxiety disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Its quite a true fact that a majority of anxiety disorders last for a short duration of time. However, that short duration of time is the most painful span that you can have in your life. It seems like a new birth when you come out of a panic attacks. as you loose control over your senses, you might do some wrong thing. Hence keep the members of the family, friends co-workers etc. aware about your condition.
